Having Infogrames (they bought the Atari label) as middleman never served any good purpose anyways. They block progress, fail to market games and generally ruin games. Every sequel or add-on to Baldur's Gate or Neverwinter Nights you miss is due to Infogrames. Last thing they blocked are the premium add-ons for NWN - glad I got Mysteries of Westgate after they had delayed it for months. The way they handled Dungeons&Dragons Online for Europe is close to sabotage.
I really hope WotC/Hasbro gets their rights back and Infogrames just goes broke or something. Noone will miss them.

Boy, am I out of touch! I didn't even know Hasbro ultimately owned D&D!

Well, the toy distri8bution rights I think - WotC own the brand, gotten from TSR, right?

Doesn't this say Hasbro owns WotC? It somehow seems wrong that such a big name owns the original indie RPG.

@Sucinum: Not strictly true if you want to be pedantic about it
. TSR doesn't exist as a brand so technically no-one "owns" it anymore. It's simply been absorbed
@Beo: I meant the original TSR was indie, not WotC

Basically the same happened to Atari which was absorbed by Infogrames. With the small difference, that the label (of a company which went broke for a reason, just to mention) was still good enough to replace the own label of Infogrames. That already tells a lot.
