that's seriously messed up, since it's a french musician, who is pretending to be german. and yet what.. only canadians can watch it? :P

The "New synthesis" (1971) by Czech band "Blue effect". Jazz + rock, instrumental only, 9 minutes long, relatively complicated music. I just love this. :)

been reading the Spider queen series a series of books not written by R.A. Salvatore, but instead by writers he selected to a story in the Drow culture that he does so well... and creeping into my head every so often was the cure.. that is.. the band "the cure" and this song.. of course. :)

of all things.. I wake up and one tiny portion of this song is stuck in my head but with the wrong lyrics.. so.. I keep humming the same few bars of music again and again until I remembered... Hadn't heard this for yeeeeeaaaars...

I have been listening to non-english songs for a very long time, not just because my wife is French, but I've listened to songs in chinese, hindi, arabic, celtic, russian, etc. Even if I don't know the words I may enjoy the music... and if I like the song enough I jump over to babelfish and translate it :D Did that with a few russian songs in the past and even took a russian course at one point. Sometimes music can inspire you to learn more about the culture, and language.. :)

yeah, all this is not possible to listen to in germany as bit noted. :/
Maybe I eventually take the effort and search for the music.. but it is too tedious right now!

are there some strict methods for preventing French music from reaching you Germans via internet? :) It was linflas who introduced me to Helmut Fritz actually, So on that note I can at least blame him for finding no german safe music ;) though Gérald De Palmas was my wifes idea.. and she no longer posts here :P

I'm not sure how much more German you can get than some guy named "Helmut Fritz." Maybe if his name was like "Otto Technopanzer Lederhosen Von Deutschland" or something, but still....

Oh, and what zoom was talking about: Many videos on youtube that contain copyrighted music are unwatchable if you are in Germany. The record companies here have achieved that, as they saw it as copyright violation. No more Pulse version of Comfortably Numb for me on youtube anymore, which is (yet again) the current song in my head.

bit. Look up Zaz : "Je veux" and you'll find the song I put there. Several of the links for her music I couldn't listen in my country either... which pissed off Sandie. She can't get much of the things she should be able to access.. like her .fr website and various songs, etc.. Zaz is from the same area where Sandie grew up...

After listening to Zaz a bit I said to Sandie that she seemed like Edit Piaf to me, and it was funny because as I've now discovered, there are many who compare the two, and she's sung a few of Piaf's songs. She just has such a rich and soulfull voice.. husky at times and always full of emotion.

as for the Bed one, it was "let's go to bed" by the cure.

lastly, that song you posted is another of Sandie's favorites.. :)

The song is successful in germany too.
Her voice is that good, that the simple guitar is enough for company. And - no question why people compare her to Edith Piaf!
Still - I like plenty of colors of different sounds in a song, either bombastic, or somehow magic in a way I really can't explain. I do have a sample - one radio moderator said, that song is like a fairy tale.
