Jupiter
What do you hear?
God? gods? chorus of transcient beings? noise? whispers? a Contact? magic? just plain sounds produced by a deep atmosphere on a giant planet. Does it really feel alien, eerie, strange but strangely, hypnotically, fascinatingly familiar and understandable? Did you already hear that kind of sound?
Man, this is trippy! Ride on and let's share what we feel about it.

Hmm, I would totally use this as an ambient sound in a dungeon.

(I even managed to make this post on-topic for the forum, how about that!)

I have a sound on my Korg Synth that sounds like that.. I think it's called space or something. Certainly interesting.

It's the reverberation of the Common Consciousness Brainwave on the last Sphere before Empyreum.
More seriously, it's totally strange and familiar at the same time. I already heard sounds like that, but most of the time, in my dreams.
The sound of the oceans or the rumbling from the sky when there's no other sound is a bit like that.
The sound that can be heard by putting one's ear close to a conch shellfish or any similar cavity is quite close, too.
It also feels like I'm in a gigantic temple, and someone hit a gong somewhere long ago, and now it keeps reverberating all around.

The Voice of Our Collective Womb. Or something.
So I go to the site where it was sourced and I can listen to the Ring of Uranus. That put me off a little.

Woooo, those noises are cool...when it started I was vaguely remind of the slight freaky voice music track thingy from 2001 (the theme that comes up whenever a monolith is discovered). After that it was just sort of cool echoing sort of background noise, like erm...something out of "Lost Eden" (if anyone's played that). Sort of...yeah, as has been said, sort of ambient background noisy-type stuff

.

this sound makes you feel totally lost.
You think you can put it somewhere familiar but then there is no real constant somehow..
this is not very "place you wanna go or stay" like. I guess I would go insane if I had this view(picture of jupiter in video) and that sound. Very strange mix!!

I couldn't listen to the ring of Uranus, either. But I was a bit nosy:

My comment was a pun.
The more I listen to Jupiter, the more I'm aware it's had a *ton* of post processing. It's cool and all, but that definitely ain't the raw sound they captured.

Hem. I got it in the first place. It's not like it forbids me from nosing around in the solar system.
Futurama joke (in the french version at least): They rename Uranus to
Urectum
because of "sniffer telescopes"...

this is what I hear...
sound.
That is, not random but interpretable noise.
if this sound comes from the electromagnetic waves emitted by Jupiter, then I'm hearing the imprint of electromagnetic sources and their spatiotemporal evolutions from a point of view. And
electromagnetism, as far as I understand it, is a non-material, spatiotemporal imprint of electrical spatiotemporal evolutions, in other words, charged particles moving and vibrating.
So even if it's an imprint of an imprint, I'm hearing matter. Which I am quite familiar with, no matter how alien it is.
So I hear first a great rising or nearing Rake, scraping metal against matter. Like the front of a wave of heat calling for the cold matter to pour into her and become a medium to the heat propagation.
I hear white wind giving birth to a legion of vortices.
Meanwhile shy crystalline notes of far all-vibrating nodes are emerging and getting strong, like the last or the first notes of a mysterious elvish song.
The echo is like from a huge, closed space, like a dome.

it is...
a kind of bowl. A giant bowl. Made of steel. With a earth-sized pea in it.
Going round and round and...
