Help with Destructable walls.

Post by biffo666 »

Forgive me if this has been answered somewhere in the forums: Couldn't find an example, or a clear answer.
How do I make a destructable wall?
User will find a pick axe, and can use it to tunnel through some cave portions of the level.
TIA

Which clone do you use Biffo? This thread should be moved to priopriate place.

Indeed, which clone. The method is completely different in each. I'm guessing you mean RTC since you have discussed that elsewhere?

If so, you can do this easily. Clone a pillar and give it new graphics (probably wall images with some kind of damage showing?) Set it's strength to a positive value (say 40). It will now be destroyable by weapons. If you want to make it destroyable only by a specific weapon, that's a little more difficult...

Perhaps you should ask Adamski - as far as I remember, he used it at the beginning of his Tower of Champions.
Finally playing and immensely enjoying the awesome Thimbleweed Park-a-reno!

Thanks! That's awesome. I was about to try using doors when I asked the question, but the pillars do the trick.

Doens't the example dungeon show how to do this, but with a door? YOu have a pick axe with a 'pick' action, that actually triggers an action that converts weak walls to broken say, broken to very broken, or deletes very broken walls
