Well, it looks like I paid the penalty for hiding at the bottom of the stairway and mega-training my hero.
It would seem almost all of the 'good' stuff has disappeared.
The armor of dark is even gone.

No chance it's 'gone back home' to be conveniently picked up again, is there?

Which version are you playing? What version of the engine? Where was all your items when you last saw them?

The only thing that should ever disappear are items dropped by creatures (eventually these items get deleted to clear space in the database), in the original PC DM, etc. All the unique items would never disappear. In CSBwin, originally the database limit was expenaded, and then ultimately I believe the database limits were removed. There was an old version that somehow marked any item as unimportant, but I think that was either an old bug, or a bug with new dungeons, not existing DM dungeons.

Either way, almost every version of DM should leave you stuff - especially something like the Armour of Darc - exactly where you left it.

I must be losing my mind (what little there was in the first place, that is).
I went back to the cursed knight section and the darc armor is still there.
