This is my last day in work before the holidays, and then I will be travelling around a bit with limited internet access, so before I go I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas/Happy New Year!
See you all in January!

Indeed, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you - or was it Happy Christmas and Merry New Year? Well, nevermind, be happy in general!

I'll spend my Christmas reading through my students' tests and essays. As for the New Year, I plan to run / ski into the deep forests of the Highland to hide from people and be alone (well, I'll take my girlfriend with me so I won't be
completely alone

).
I also intend to eat as much Christmas sweets as possible and walk around in the coutryside a bit - we've finally got some snow, although its above 0°C and it's probably going to melt, but meh, I've got my old good green'n'black wellington boots that can be used to scare away bears and wolves.

Oh, it's only about 4 hours or so to go here! I've just finished packing the presents
and seized a large plate full of sweets, so I'm quite ready now. Merry Christmas to everyone!

Might be more PC to say Happy Holly Days.
Anyway...I hope all the best for everyone, as the Christmas/New Years 'Wonderful Get-together Days' are upon us.
I was able to be at home, most of Christmas day. We opened gifts on Saturday.
I'm just glad we were able to have gifts. We are fortunate and thankful.
Um, and NO SNOW either. Oh yeah!

No snow here either, and we had running water (last year all pipes froze) so not a bad Christmas.
It seems Christmas divides people into two camps, those who love the day and those who think it is far too commercial and their is to much pressure to have a good time. I love it myself, although I do keep my expectations low. And I don't like buying presents, and can never think of anything I need when people ask me (funny, as a child I was never short of ideas).

Hey Wuffy, haven't seen you in these parts for ages

.
It's been pretty warm here (or at least, no colder than "a bit chilly"). Warm. In December. Sigh. Maybe we'll wake up one morning in February to find the temperature suddenly disappeared overnight and everything has frozen over or something. Maybe?
I'm so glad I'm not working in retail any more - my partner has been saying how busy it's been where he works (a shop that sells all kinds of electrical/electronic stuff) but as I now work in an office (I work for a bank, at their head office dealing with the post and stuff so no customer interaction at all, woohoo!) I don't have to worry about any of that any more. And it also means I don't have to walk past all the shops spouting all their Christmas everything. Today I only have to go in for about two hours, then I can come home again and tomorrow we can finally all find out what's under the wrapping paper of the big pile of objects under the tree in our house

.
We don't really do much for Christmas - open prezzies in the morning, then do whatever, then have Christmas lunch, then more of doing whatever, then Christmas tea, then watch the Christmas Doctor Who, then more of doing whatever and then we go to bed. Nice that we get four days off in a row this year, what with it being over a weekend and stuff

.
Everyone have a good time even if you think Christmas is bollocks

.

Dear good Ameena, I don't want to cool down your excitement but Beowuuf is sadly not back - I made the mistake of reincarn... ressurecting a four years old thread so BW's post is kind of old. Sorry. I wish he was back too...
It's incredibly warm here too. Warm and dry. We had an extremely dry summer and the draughts continue, it's becoming very serious. And it's so warm. In the afternoon the temperatures are these days between 10 and 15 C which is incredible, certainly not a typical Christmas weather. No snow, no skiing, no skating, no ice-hockey, no snowmen, no snowball fighting, no fun, no nothing.
OK, but at least I've got two weeks off so I can kind of relax and do nothing (I'm so good at doing nothing! - I should go to Nothing-doing-olympics, or "Nolympics").

Happy Christmas all!

Back at home now, which is nice considering that I live in a different country to my family (even if it just is a 40 minute flight). Relaxing by the fire as we speak.
Yeah, still no beo

. But hopefully he is having a good Christmas wherever he is too!

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to all Dungeon Masters. It will be a lot of fun, there is snow on the ground and I have 5 granddaughters running around today, it will be fun indeed.
