Strange Runes

I had noticed on the entry screen for DM and on the Gor coin image on this site that there are strange runes on both. I was wondering if anyone knows what they mean. Only one of the runes show there are in the game itself (see Gor coin bottom, 3rd rune. Looks like FUL).
