Is importing original DM characters after a playthrough better than reincarnating the new champions in CSB once everybody is on the same levels etc?

I have it in my head that CSB champions are stronger.

Just compare the champions in your DM save to the CSB starters.
Check the stats against the levels in a particular discipline.
For example, if someone has a high fighter level but low strength, then you’ll struggle to get a decent balance because they’ll gain little of that corresponding level boost.
Same goes for ninja/dexterity, priest/vitality, wizard/wisdom.
