So I figured out how to get the game running full screen through dosbox x. The problem is the music volume works, but the important sound volume does not seem to work. I hear the retro music playing but, I hear none of the running into walls/ spell sounds/ footsteps/ key locks volume at all. Seems odd the Music volume (background music)works but the important sounds do not is there any fix for this or does anyone know how this can be fixed? I seen threads on this forum speaking about this going back 20 years, but no solution was provided. I really want to play this but i want the full experience and without the sound effects from spells, keylocks and monsters Im not sure if i will be able to enjoy this. I mean think about playing CSB without the sounds of the gigglers robbing you it would be a nightmare or the dragons footsteps.

Is there any fix or do i need a certain file for DM2? I have tried about 3 so far they all have this same issue.

Ok well i never tried your link Christophe but thank you I did figure out how to do by myself probably 5 minute prior to you posting this.


First off i had to download a version that was removed i found a link here:

That link was removed from the web years ago, so I found this exact link on waybackmachine:

Then from that page I downloaded
2- Dungeon Master II pro PC (Anglická verze 1.0) - ZIP, 13.3 MB

3- Then from that file I drug and dropped Setup.exe into Dosbox X (should also work for dosbox)
4- Changed Digital settings from "Sound blaster 16" to "Sound blaster" port 1 and irq 7. and tested to make sure it said "hmmi module alpha humana on approach to space station mercury" that entire sentence. Sometime if the setting were wrong it would cut that sentence off. Press Ok and saved settings once i got it right.
5- Dragged DM2.bat into dos box x and waited for it to load.

It all worked now!

I now have both Sound volume (i can hear my guy smashing into the wall) and Music volume in dungeon master 2 and it works in full screen and supports the keyboard so I think I'm set up to play now! But, thank you very much for the links I will save them for later if i may need them later down the road.

I wrote this down to help anyone that had no idea what to do like i did.
Now time to clean up my desktop and remove all these broken links and non working files then off to play some Dungeon Master 2 Thanks!!
