Custom dungeons/DM2 and physical preparation!

Hi Dungeon Master team!

I just dove back into a pretty brutal custom dungeon, in the spirit of the original but even more vicious. It reminded me how long sessions can last, especially on DM2 or CSB challenges. We often talk about stats and clones (like CSBwin), but I'd like to talk about our own endurance!

What do you do to keep going physically during these marathons?

I mean, I've been playing computer games for multiple hours a day on literally every day that I've been able to since I was like, four or five or something. More so since I got my first proper job in 2007 and had money to buy my own computer instead of using my dad's :D.

Yeah, that makes sense. When you’ve been doing it since you were a kid, the stamina just builds up. I’m not quite there. On long, nasty dungeon runs, I feel it after a few hours. Eyes, back, focus… that’s usually what goes first, not the character. I just manage it simply: short breaks, water nearby, something quick to eat so I don’t fully disconnect. I tried some freeze-dried meals a while back, not exciting but practical when you don’t want to stop a run. In the end it’s mostly habit. The more long sessions you do, the easier it gets. At least until your body starts complaining more than the monsters do.
