Exporting DMuted dungeons into RTC
Hi, just wondered if we're gonna be able to import DMuted dungeons into the editor (when complete) - it's just a shame to have all those dungeons out there going to waste
Re: Question/Suggestion
Nope, sorry. Just gonna have to remake them. Some of the puzzles work differently and the whole dungeon format is different so it just isn't compatable.

Well, you can port some 90-95% of a DMuted dungeon in RTC; then it's just a question of patching up the remainder by hand. It's not possible to do a complete conversion because the way some of DMs objects work are fundamentally different to how RTCs do.
If you're interested, have a chat with Des as he's probably got the most experience of doing this!

I was very impressed with how much was converted succesfully from CSBWin to RTC. From original DM I would expect even less problems.
Anyway, here's a list of the tweaks I had to make...
Triggers - check 'em all. Often the OpBy will become ALL rather than PARTY which can have quite major effects. Also the action may not be right - actuators to turn off moveable walls get translated to activate triggers rather than deactivate.
Texts - the length limit is lower in RTC but you can have punctuation characters. Also they become invisible by default. I had some scroll and wall texts mixed up too.
Delays - DMute halved all the delays. This may be a CSBWin thing.
Damage - poison does more damage in RTC so reducing the damage of poison shooters is a good idea. Fireball and lightning are about the same.
Reincarnation and character stats - RTC 0.37 reduces some characters and not others - fixed in 0.38.
Sounds - teleporters lose thier buzz and keyholes don't click - everything gets the default no sound - you have to select a sound for each event.
Monster behaviour - they tend to rush up and attack more, which may affect the play of some areas of the dungeon.
So the bottom line is it works with few problems, but you do have to test and tweak the converted dungeon.
