Re: Sound Blaster PCI 128 & DM II
I played this game long ago when ISA slots were all we had. But the
questions about the SoundBlaster PCI cards prompted me to get
out the old CD and load the game again.
I have a SoundBlaster PCI 512. With a bit of fiddling with the
DM2 setup program I was able to make the digital sound (bumping
into walls, etc) and the MIDI work just fine.
I rebooted the machine, pressed F8, and selected "Command
Prompt Only" at the menu. I ran the SoundBlaster SNDINIT and
loaded the mouse driver. I typed "Set" at the DOS prompt to
get the port, IRQ, and MDA values. Then I ran the DM2 Setup and
forced those values into the "Digital" selection. Told it I had a
Sound Blaster PRO. Then I ran DM2 and all was well.
If anyone thinks I can help with their problem, please write and I
will do my best to tell you exactly what I have and what I did.
