Forum posts not marked as read

I'm finding if I don't write a post in a forum, then I'm not having that forum nor its posts marked as read when I browse it...only been the last day or two. I updated my profile but don't see anything unchecked

I often have the opposite problem. I log in, read
one forum, log out. Then when I come back and
log in again, all forumss have been marked as having
been read.

Yes, the forum does that to me too if a session is interrupted, it removes all the unread notices

Edit: And it's fixed, firefox was blocking pop-ups with the newest version update, and that stopped the registering of my post readage...or somehting...or it fixed itself coincidentally...

This is by design in phpBB -- each forum visit is a session and sessions are reset when you leave the forum and return. I've always found that pretty odd and agree it should be a user choice to mark forums as read.
