Font colors and string replacements

Post by JCG »

Hi George,

A few suggestions to expand the possibilities of floor texts:
1) to have the possibility to insert the name of a character.
This could be specified by inserting in the string the % sign followed by the character number
for example, if the 2nd and 3rd character from the left are SYRA and HALK,
the string "%2 SAYS TO %3 : I FEEL A DRAGON NEARBY" would appear as:
SYRA SAYS TO HALK : I FEEL A DRAGON NEARBY
%0 could indicate the leader
If the character is dead or absent, then no text would appear.
2) to have the possibility to have different colors for floor texts (instead of only one), at least the four colors used for the characters
This could be specified by starting the string with : %G, %Y, %R or %B
for green, yellow, red and blue respectively.
without these the default color would be used

This could be used to make the characters speak, make remarks, joke or even have conversations at specific points

...BTW, may I reiterate my suggestion for a female warcry ( http://www.dungeon-master.com/forum/vie ... hp?t=23862 ) ? ....Any female user of the forum to give us a small .WAV sample ?

There's already a thread discussing (1) and sort-of (2):

Please try and add similar requests to existing threads rather than open new ones. You'd be amazed the amount of stuff that has already been written -- no point doing it again!
