[Fixed for V0.40] Bug with Ambient Music

Post by L!ghthouse »

I am trying to use .ogg files for some music. When I add them as AMBIENT_MUSIC, they play VERY low volume, almost like they are not fading in (though I have one freak .ogg file that plays fine). The .ogg files work as they should at full volume when I specify them as AMBIENT_SOUND.

Hope this helps locate the problem!

An obvious point, but you do have the music volume turned up don't you...

Haha. No, I checked that too. Like I said, I have one freak .ogg file that does not do this, the rest do. When I use the .ogg files as Ambient Sound instead, it works as expected (full volume and all).

Can you email me the ogg file and I'll take a look at how the volume is handled for it under a debugger.

I have sent both .ogg files I was using to your email. I have more that I was using in the same dungeon. (maybe it's related to the other 16 .ogg files I was using in this dungeon...?)

That's great thanks - now fixed for V0.40

BTW - it's nothing to do with OGG files per se, just how the music is started and the intial volume in the file - I think you were just unlucky to hit it with some files but not others.
