30 reasons to visit British Columbia..
I'm going to slowly deliver 30 reasons over the next while .. I'm sure I can think of 30 given enough time.. and I'll post them here
reason #1
http://www.citymayors.com/features/quality_survey.html
We are rated #3 in the world in terms of quality of life in our city of vancouver. Based on 39 criterea.. just examine the link above.
Reason # 2
http://www.city.vancouver.bc.ca/Parks/parks/stanley/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stanley_Park
Stanley Park. One of the largest parks in the world. Look at the map and you will see just how big it is. Many things to see and do there than one would literally have to go first thing in the morning and go like a mad man in order to see it all.. otherwise it will take more than one visit there..
Reason # 3
http://www.roadsideattractions.ca/tinsoldier.htm
The worlds largest Tin soldier.. feeling in the christmas mood? look at him.. he's cheerfull and located at the New Westminster Quay guarding our market over looking the water.
He also has a time capsul in him that is there to be opened many years from now for our future generations to open and examine. int he year 2025
Reason # 4
http://www.butchartgardens.com/index.php?viewPage=TRUE
Buchart Gardens it's been around for more than 100 years having been created first in 1904!! The garden is huge and diverse and has been visted by many the world round!!
Reason # 5
http://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/index.htm
Whistler is a really nice location to go skiing according to many people. I've been here many years but have not yet gone. I've know a number of peopel who have come here from other countries who rave about it though so I'm putting it here.
So there's your first 5 reasons.. I have more but I'll save them for a future post..

one reason to visit Poland:
1. because I live there
oh, and it`s beautifull here BTW. It is the most beautifull country in the whole world. That says people who never been anywhere else.

Reason # 6
http://www.capcollege.bc.ca/Home.html
If you come to study, many courses are reasonably priced and if you go to campus' like Capilano college, the view and environment is gorgeous. There are tall old trees, beautifull majestic mountains, and fresh clear air.
Reason # 7
http://www.visitvancouver.com/outdoor_a ... ature.html
Hiking and nature. There is so much fantastic wilderness here. You can see mountains, trees and there is such a wide range of hiking and mountain biking trails. In fact some of the main mountain biking groups are estabilished here in BC. There are many camp grounds and really.. it's one of the few places even those in the movies come to film wilderness scenes. Need a deep ancient woodland for elves to wander through? come to BC!!
Reason #8
http://www.livetosurf.com/frames/
Tofino, for those of you who like to surf. Tofino is here to bring you deep waves and moderate temperature water. You can swim in the water hear and not worry about large sharks but we have man whales.
Reason #9
Moderate climate. Not too warm, and not too cold. We have our range of weather.. much of it admitedly is rain. However, it's always within the range of pleasant and a freind pointed out it's the only place he's been where he could go snow boarding and then go swim in the ocean in the same day.
Reason #10
http://www.aprilpoint.com/nature-tours/ ... land-wolf/
http://www.aprilpoint.com/nature-tours/ ... ure-tours/
Wild life, we have whale watching tours, large mouse and beaver trails you can investigate. You can come and listen to wolves sing or see a bears nest. We have a divers eco system and have made it accessable to visitors without the need of bars. You can take any number of trips out here to see diferent Animals in their NATURAL habitat!

reason #11:
http://www.kamrail.com/
A real old steam train that you can ride on!! how cool is that? I mean who doesn't like old trains? I've been on a train once or twice, but loved seeing the scenery go past.. having a nice dinner.. watching the land fly past you.. classic
Reason #12:
http://www.grousemountain.com/welcome.cfm
I know it's annother mountain and skiing place, but the view from the skyride up is stunning! You float past the tips of old evergreens and when you go over the little rollers sometimes.. it rocks a bit adding to the awe.. quite exciting.
Reason #13:
http://www.pacificunderseagardens.com/
This combined with one of their many whale tours is great. This is a true under the water in their own natural habitat look at sea life. Normally you go to marine places and we have one in stanley park, they try to simulate it. this one is a boat. You get into it and go look. They have a diver who shows you and plays with the sea life like the octopus. It's quite cool.
Reason #14:
http://www.burnaby.ca/cityhall/departme ... rnbyv.html
Love the old days? this is a small bit of history enclosed and perserved. Here you can go at take an "apreticeship" for a few days as a blacksmith. I've done this myself. I have the burn scare to prove it it was a lot of fun, just be sure to keep track of where the sparks fly when in the forge. There are lots of old houses and an old carosel to ride on other historical things you can learn to do as well and they have a fantastic event each halloween.
reason #15:
http://www.harrisonresort.com/
Hot Springs with a view. Mountains, water, lush forrests, and the luxury of a hot springs spa. This is how some people like to recharge. I've never been but I'd seriously think about it.

I lived in Kelowna a few years ago. It was quite nice and I found that the winters were....well it wasn't much of a winter then either. But then again I was more used to the NWT at the time anyways.
I haven't been in Vancouver since I was 8 or somthing like that and I barely remember Stanley park. I've seen recent pics though after it was hit hard from the storms.

there are of course areas where it's full city and it's much like any other place, but where I live there is less development. I pay a lot more rent which means I have next to no savings.. but ultimately for now I apreciate the view more than I do the extra cash. I may need to be reasonable eventually and decide to find a place that costs me less.. but not yet.
These pictures are along one of the trails in deep cove which is right near where I live. the trail itself takes about 2 hours to walk, up and down the mountain, great views like in the first pic.. if you pay close attention to that one you can see the city.. mid right side just above the tree line of the island. A block of buildings. It's cool because it reminds me that BC is still largely nature. Luckily our government recognises that it brings in a lot of money in tourism and movies who want to shoot films with big trees and rain forrests..
anyway, just annother reason to visit me

just to bolster that last one aka reason #16

few more shots of wonderous BC nature.
reason #17
http://www.vanmuseum.bc.ca/
always new shows going on, things change all the time, but always something interesting.
reason #18
http://www.scienceworld.bc.ca/
Large dome of steel and glass, there's your crystal palace. This place is rather large and has all sorts of things going on inside, games to try, and experiements being performed by the staff. The first floor you enter has puzzles for you to beat your head against, and upper floors have games where you strap a set of wires to your head and try to beat your opponent using only your mind!!
reason #19
http://www.gastown.org/
Gas town is filled with tourist attractions as well as a couple small free art museums, and their famouse steam clock.
reason #20
http://www.translink.bc.ca/Transportati ... es/SeaBus/
this is an attraction for a lot of visitors, get a view of vancouver from the water for the cost of a normal bus ticket. This is a part of our bus transport and takes you from vancouver waterfront, to the Lonsdale Quay market, which also has a nice view of vancouver and little shops, food court, and resturaunts.
