Many weapons and items have requirements for their abilities. Otherwise, a character in DM2 with no fighter ability could use the Vorax's Berserk attack for 100+ damage.

Could someone tell me what the patch does? I can't figure it out. BlueFox, if you have trouble getting the sound to work, try using the HMI driver update at the encyclopaedia downloads. Make sure that DM2 is set up to use the correct kind of sound.

Well, in today's world, a standard desktop computer runs 1 ghz minimum. (That's what you mean)
Unless you haven't bought a new computer in the last 3 years, yeah, you're screwed. But I would assume most people buy new computers regularly to keep up with new programs.

Yes. Find an alternate unzipping program first. My e-mail upload is very sloooooow. If I were to e-mail an unzipped copy, I would die before it finished uploading to my outgoing mail server. Check out that rarlab website. Works fine for me.

The compass is not used in DM2 to my knowledge, aside from direction-finding. Also, no iron rings or decorations on walls really do anything. I would be interested in testing this because I could probably identify any should-be things in it. I know the DM1 conversion is way off, but I could take tha...

Well, you could follow Brian Clevinger's Final Fantasy lineup, in which Red Mage, the most versitile member of the group (but also the sissiest) decides that he should stay in the back (very far back) so as to stay at his peak versatility (meaning he doesn't do any fighting at all...) www.nuklearpow...

I was sort of joking about the boulders-as-weapons comments. Rocks, sure. But boulders? Too draining on the stamina and too difficult to actually throw in th early parts of the game. Slings are nice subs for the bow, but not much beats a Speedbow with Slayer Arrows for damage/distance except Mon Ful...

Play DM2 on a Mac if at all possible! OS 7, 8, 9 , or Classic mode in X! DM2 is easier than CSB by far, and easier than DM1. You gat a town to explore, a small home with the only Altar of VI, and several layers of tower with puzzles (though simple and somewhat unexplained), and fighting off monsters...

I'd like to see somebody's computer play DM2 on any emulation platform and do it smoother or faster than mine :P ! The CSB clone of DM is excellent, as is the RTC version, both for Windows. They run on current operating systems fine. For Dungeon Master 2, playing the Macintosh version on a real Macintosh is best (System 7,8,9, and Classic under X) and the PC version is difficult to run with the smoothness of an ...

Hey Paul! I thought that since DM2's dungeon opened up (with some errors) in CSBuild(?), maybe you could start a page about DM2's format on the Encyclopaedia. You're probably busy with CSBWin, and the rest of your life, but the revelation you made while attempting to help me hack my game could be th...

In DM SNES, you are forced to rename your characters if you reincarnate them. The downside is, you only get 5 characters for the name. Ressurected Gothmog is named Gothmog (and the letters are squished together), but if you reincarnate, you hae to chose a shorter, less cool name. I call him Draco or...

Ahh, good. Now you can play custom dungeons without using the wrong graphics set. If you could add in capability to keep all graphics.dat files in the same folder, with different names, and use the signatures alone to determine which file to use, then using multiple custom dungeons would be very easy.

Cursed items can't be removed without dying first, or using a spell or potion that allows them to be removed. That would be cool. Oh, wait. That's not really a spell effect.
