Solution is here...

Eric Svanberg sent me new, test version. It configures and compiles good - with some minor glitches: files README and NEWS missing, therefore automake produces not Makefile.in, so I copied them from another package.
I saw biggest count ever of warnings while compiling, but it finally produced usable ...

@Rebecka:

Problem with sound is that there is no sound at all while game runs - when close game, all sound 'flushes' out in moment. In some cases ESD is not accessible, then it freezes whole system, and is hard to even close game.
I tried some settings of esd, what eric svanberg suggested, but ...

Usable Linux version?

Is there available somewhere some usable Linix version of CSB-DM.
I mean here version which has working sound. V 0.98 for Linux adapted by Eric Svanberg has problems with sound - no sound in game, and I even can't compile it myself to maybe get workable Linux executable - confugure and automake is ...

Each dungeon I play has its own csb.exe and associated files. It really doesn't take up that much room, its not even worth discussing.

Yes, yes... Everybody has now multi GB hard drive(s). Point is not in place consumption. Point is in that, that when someone writes here explanations, it should ...

Isn't it what I'm talking - only one exe file for many dungeons ?

This is not correct explanation. Windows XP still has some DOS support. Not emulation. Point by CSBWin is not command line, but BAT(CH) (this is some kind of script) file for starting. It is used with goal to save some space, not only for start program.
Unfortunatelly, todays 'WIN' generation ...

Playback speed of records?

I tried some search, but didn't find anything about.

Why is playback speed of recorded plays so fast? More accurate, only movement is too fast (walking, rotating) . It is impossible to fallow what happening in many situations. Is it also the reson for so unrealistic short finishing of games (11 min ...

OK. I will put CSB and Dungeon Master for ST, with some source codes, where it is visible something little about copy protection, only for CSB.
I need first to translate comments in English. I really don't remember much about protections after 15 years :)

Hacked DM and CSB for Atari ST

Is there any interest for Atari versions of Dungeon Master and Chaos Strikes Back for Atari ST - different from available on NET (Automatation and similar 'realases' ) ?

I bothered in that time, somewhere around 1990, with original floppies of CSB. I wanted to make backup, to spare original disks ...
