so I decided it was about time for a Boris solo turn. Is there anything important to watch out for, tricks and stuff?

And I have to say that RTC is really close to the Amiga version, awesome.

I just noticed that Trantor wrote pretty much the same about Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn. I really didn´t read your post before I was posting!

But there you are - good books deserve multiple advertisement.

If you want a really good fantasy read, I highly recommend the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn books by Tad Williams. Probably the best contemporary high fantasy. Also Otherland, a fantasy-scifi-real world dystopia, is very good

Cannot give any movie suggestions, since I don´t care about movies at all ...

Although it is necessary to complete the staff with the gem, you can also use the bare staff - I remember doing that for a while, brandishing Firestaff and shooing Chaos around...

I am quite sure that I didn´t have to do the first part of DAIN to get the appropriate key. Of course it could be that I entered the way somehow through a pit or a teleporter. The key has to come from somewhere, hasn´t it?

Short update on my current progress: not much, really. Can you say zooooom ...

Something is still missing. I have the key, I have the Skeleton blasted, I have pushed the secret button that switches off the teleporter in DDD...

and the pit which I think is the one hindering me from getting into ROS is still there. oh, and I am playing CSBWin.

Things are going very well, I have 3 Corbi, from NETA, KU, and DAIN (without doing the first part from the junction. nothing can confuse me any more).

If I´d only find the DDD dor to ROS...

Ok, i am VERY stupid. Just ignore my last postings...

My assumption was that those dragons would have the power to cast a Mon fireball. obviously they don´t (enormous firepower, eh?). so i never tried myself...

And believe it or not, I just found out ten minutes ago before reading your last hint ...

Well, it seems i don´t have the power to get to those chests...

Let me specifiy: there is a key lock in Dragon Den. Do I need a key to open the doors to get to the chests, or is there another way to open the doors? It would be most logical that a specific key is needed - but which one?. The Hint ...

No, again in Dragon Den and with the same problem: I don´t have the adequate key. Is the Corbum in one of those chests?

Maybe I forgot something in the first part of KU. But I don´t exactly want to get back there...

So i am almost at the point where i already was when i tempolarily gave up a few weeks ago. I am now in KU, still in search for the corbum. I already know where it is, though. Before, i did NETA, as usual (this time i did not activate the fireball in the corbum room.)

but sometimes i have a feeling that this game gets even more complicated with benevolent hints...

As for my glorious tactic defeating the dragon below the DDD, well: a pillar in the room makes this really easy. running around the pillar seems to be too confusing for the dragon, especially when changing directions. basically it is a variation of attacking from the side, when a monster is turning ...

It seems i always end up back in the junction of the ways, and don´t get any further.

i suppose the corbum i have is frome neta, but i am not sure.

well... there are keys (emerald, saphire, topaz), but no doors. there is a door, but no key (ruby, according to the hint oracle). there is another key lock in the dragon den, but no key. i am going around in circles, it seems.

so i was down in the corbum pit area, still with only one Corbum. i ...

So i have one of those Corbum pieces... seems it is a long way still, though. and in the room with dozens of monsters there was Chaos... haven´t i fluxcaged you last year!? a well, so you want to strike back.

btw, this could be a possible bug: a group of four knights retreating and falling to ...

well, what can i say... this is really terrible. but i like it. a sequel that deserves its name. so the level structures change according to the items you gain, or something. very nasty... it seems impossible just to go from A to B. not that i could guess where A to B exactly is...

due to the kind help from people on this forum, i managed to finish DM last year. it was a great relief (and, btw, a great experience to get the original Amiga playing feel again, since i played it on the Amiga 500, which now is again packed and stored in the dungeon, i mean in the ...

i am not really ready for a solo trip, but i´ve started another game immediately after i finished DM.

guess who is in the team - Boris and Mophus, yesss!

is it only my impression, or is it a fact that the less members you have in your team, the more experience they get?

And yes, The PC game has an animation at the end rather than the simple 'well done people, zap zap zap bang*

... after so many years (but in fact, and with lots of practice, in only 4 days), i finished Dungeon Master!

the champions are Linflas, Leif, Mophus and of course Boris...

i feel relieved somehow. funny ending, though. but of of course you cannot expect a great ending animation from ...

why is Chaos always teleporting when i try to fuse?

isn´t it about to fluxcage him, then fuse?!

couldn´t play much DM in recent weeks, but picked up again now. started again, to be more precise. now i am really close to finally finishing it (after all those years...). i already have the firestaff, and am at the level with Chaos and the fire elementals now. still haven´t the gem ...

you made me think about honesty in playing DM - so i started over, with the strict self limitation of only using those spells already found. it isn´t that difficult, yet... but i have not much time at the moment to make much progress. the party is now Boris, Gando, Leif and - Mophus.
