Clan Chief Gem

Well... I'm trying to find out the usage of Clan Chief Gem... it doesn't seem to boost any statistics or affect the party in any way.

Any ideas how can it be used?

Well I did Black Stamm myself before looking at Hexa. Then I loaded the Theron's Quest portrait set and went ""Dang! I must change it." I wanted to him red beard, but I already had Gando as the Dwarf. I modded Theron a bit ( Added leather armour instead of the tunic ), I left Hakar un...

Custom Portrait set

Something from my custom dungeon for all of you to enjoy.Steal it, use it, change it, play with it. I've created it from old CSB/DM portrait set and added 2 bits from Theron's Quest. Here it is in the GIF format, sligthly enlarged: http://acid.ch.pw.edu.pl/~suule/DM/Portraits.gif I don't have any id...

Only for the wearer. The sword itself is not too good. You can put it in a quiver though and it wil;l grant you the luck too. For good swords find my post about digging through the data files. It should give you a nice spectrum of things worth getting (it's a sumplement to things posted on DM Encycl...

Working with ADGE is sometimes like waltzing through a minefield... If you don't save often all you can do is scream NOOOOOOOOO! and watch your hard work going down the drain.

That's just the tip of the iceberg. I still haven't found food/water values, the purpose of flags and such. Monster AI still has to be decoded... a lot of blank spaces I need to get de-coded before I'll put them in my clone. I'm glad I managed to get this far. And with some of Puprle1's help I also ...

Suule, put the start location on a teleporter directing to level 4. Not sure if I understood you correctly, but you can set other dungeon levels to permanent lighting. For conflux, I'm currently working on custom graphics and monsters AI. I'm waiting for some art from [subtle hint for them]Cowsmana...

Okay... I'v tried the theory today. I've duped a silver coin from Frozen Torham's inventory that was the LAST item on the field. I've payed with it for a torch, went to HoC and the game froze. While duping the first item from the list (Last in the stack) lead to no consequences The item list seems t...

Digging deeper into the data files

Well I've dug into the data files some time ago and did a bit of decoding of the things used there. First of all: Command format For example: Melee:CM8SK4LV4BZ16TR25TA-5EX24PB70DM54AT1 CM - It seems to be 'how to handle an attack'. Full command list: CM1 - Block CM2 - Invisibility (OH EW SAR) CM3 - ...

I've already analyzed that... since one of my dungeon maps include gem mines I'm planning on making a 'gem-cash' converter (Not to mention the money changer. We'll see how it works out. By shops I mean like those from DM2 - pushbuttons for rotating the selection on one wall. Alcove one for money, al...

Hmmrrr.. your theory may be right, the inventories seem to be two or one way quques so changing the pointers would make the whole list move.

I'll try it out tomorrow, it's too late to do it now.

You don't even need programming skills - the editors are so good that anyone can knock together a little (or big) dungeon. Some people (like me) are just too ambitious... ;) Suule, have you played other customs? They`re also very good, especially Conflux. Po za tym sam się męczę nad swoją wersją CS...

Well I've started working on my dungeon after compiling my custom graphics .dat I estimate it to be around 15-17 levels. I'm currently trying to figure out how to do shops with DSAs. Sadly after DMII the team seem to have broken up. A shame really since DM2 had that "Still have a badass schwarzcharacter to kill" ending. I'm sure there would be a DM2.5... but yeah. The game engine itself was obsolete and there wasn't any intrest in making a sequel. Right now we have to ...

Or use the scout map's "all-seeing eye" to block them. There was a way to dispose of them though. You could lock all of them in the HoC building. I managed to do it with most of them.

Attack Minions... I hated those with passion. Always finding me when least expected. Usually I was woken up by a BLAM of a lightning thrown at me or finding them behind me when I fought off mosters.

There is another recepie for the cauldron: Staff + Mana Blossom = Snake Staff. But yeah: Making Blue Steeles was a great way to make money... combined with axes you get from the 'vikings' you could buy all of the shop contents in no time.

The itema seems to have same propert...

Meteor metal you mean?

This sword does two things - Increases your luck (according to the entry in creatures.dat) And can be transmuted into Blue Steele in the Vexirk cauldron (1st floor of the Skullkeep. The formula (correct me if I'm wrong) was: 1 Spirit Cap, 1 Red Gem and 1 Meteor Blade.

If you would read my topic about hacking DM2, you could do whatever you wanted in the game. The pointer coding is fine; you have simply screwed up parts of the item database by using the replication bug. If you download a memory editor, I can give you some steps to changing some common items into s...

More examples of bad pointer coding

I began experimenting with the item replication bug again and I had the strangest thing happen to me. Here it goes: I 'fixed' the dungeon.dat to 'No Torham' copying all of his items to his 'freezer'. I've unfrozen Equus and started to grab random stuff from the mirrors (in order to sell it or put it...
