DM Rules!

Post by Guest »

I just want to say, i played Dungeon Master on my Amiga 500 back when the game was released - must have been about 1990 as i got my amiga in 1989. I could not get enough of the game. I played it for months on end, for hours and hours at a time. Im replaying it now on WINUAE and its awesome. Absolutely awesome!

Where are the guys from FTL now - why arent they making more DM!

Sadly after DMII the team seem to have broken up. A shame really since DM2 had that "Still have a badass schwarzcharacter to kill" ending. I'm sure there would be a DM2.5... but yeah. The game engine itself was obsolete and there wasn't any intrest in making a sequel.

Right now we have to depend on fans with programming skills to give us more DM goodness.

You don't even need programming skills - the editors are so good that anyone can knock together a little (or big) dungeon.

Suule, have you played other customs? They`re also very good, especially Conflux.

Pozdro!

Some people (like me) are just too ambitious... ;)

Yeah. Currently I'm starting Conflux II for the eight time... after I f***ed up 7 times already. (To make everything harder I'm using one slot per game). I've also started 'Black Flame' and I'm procceding nicely.

Ja tez sie poce nad swoim dungeonem... 3-4 dni zajelo mi uporanie sie z graphics.datem.

Wiesz... ja tam programuje wlasnego Dungeon Master'a dwojke w wolnym czasie - cos ala RTC (bo w reverse engineering jestem slaby. Moze wyjdzie z tego DM 2.5.

BTW: Z jakiego miasta jestes?[/quote]

Potrzebuję DSA głównie po to, żeby zmienić ciężar i właściwości niektórych obiektów (muszę to zrobić, bo nieźle namieszałem w graphics.dat).

[I need DSA mainly because I have to change weight and values of some objects (I have to do this, because have I messed up a lot in graphics.dat)]

You can't change weights with DSAs, just the appearance of the weight reported during the game - you still need ADGE to actually alter item properties. Other properties you can't change, but you can simulate or bypass.

For the new dungeon maker, wanting a few new things in the dungeon after basic editiong, ADGE is the 1st step.

Working with ADGE is sometimes like waltzing through a minefield... If you don't save often all you can do is scream NOOOOOOOOO! and watch your hard work going down the drain.

Well, thats never happened to me, and I have used it extensively. OK, once, but that was my silly fault. ADGE is almost perfect in its concept.
