Is it easy to set up Borland C++ on Linux?
I assume you are running on Linux as obviously you would not use the spawn of the devil as your OS, would you?

Graham, www.gab2001uk.com
Gambit. You are a Genius!!!
I feel a complete idiot, for not extracting the files from Winzip properly, just dragging them all into a folder, so they ended up as you described.
Thanks again. Chaos is now going to get a good beating!

Graham, www.gab2001uk.com

Re: problems
I had already considered other programs interfering, so have tried shutting off everything except the essentials, but it made no difference. I am puzzled why I get the same on so many different computers, even with a clean install of the OS and no other software on it.

Graham, www ...

Re: problems
No. Most of the computers have ATI graphics cards, one has an on-board SIS , the other a generic 8MB cheapo card.

Graham, www.gab2001uk.com

Still No joy with 0.17 even starting up (Same as 0.16)
I posted after 0.16 with the same problem and gave up. 0.17 is the same. I have tried on 5 computers with different OS and the same result: Screen goes black, low res cursor appears briefly, then back to the desktop. No error message this time, and no log file either.I have tried using different ...

Re: New version 0.16 won't run on Win 2000
Thanks all. I have played around with the settings in the config.txt file as suggested, but it makes no difference. I have now tried a non-ATI machine and still crashes at the start. I do occasionally get a message like "Cannot set display mode 640x480" or similar, but usually it is either a page ...

Re: New version 0.16 won't run on Win 2000
All three machines I have tried use ATI graphics cards of one sort or another. All machines run version 0.13, but will not run 0.15 or 0.16. I will see if I can try it on a non-ATI machine. I do not have version 0.14 to try out

Graham, www.gab2001uk.com

Would not work on Win Me (Dual boot) either. Screen size on both is 1400 X 1028.

New version 0.16 won't run on Win 2000
Hi George,
Probs with v0.16. Screen goes black then the following message:
The instruction at "0x00435dff" referenced memory at 0x00000000.
The memory could not be "read"
Click "OK" to terminate the program, Cancel to Debug.
Clicking cancel attempts to load Visual Studio 6 C++ debugger.

<B ...

Thrown Firestaff bug has not been duplicated!
Just played RTC v 0.9 using Original Dungeon, killed the dragon with 8 freeze boxes and 12 arrow/slayer shots from crossbows. I tried the old trick of throwing the firestaff + gem combo out through the door to stop the way being blocked back upstairs. It doesn't work! Now I am stuck on the two ...

Re: Stuck on worm level due to mummy pad not working
Sorry about posting in the wrong place. Stupid of me.
So is there any point in playing again with version .09 as I may get to the same place after several hours to find the same thing happens again?
User has caused a General Protection Fault. Change User and press any key to continue...

Stuck on worm level due to mummy pad not working
Does anyone have version 0.08 of RTC so I can use it to get past the end of the worm level in version 0.09? I do not want to start again as I have spent a long time training all my characters.
Many thanks
User has caused a General Protection Fault. Change User and press any key to continue...

Re: Mystery area you can't get to
I mapped this area very carefully and my map agreed with those available on the Unofficial DM Webs...Oh No! It has ceased to be. It has shuffled off this mortal coil etc. etc.
Anyway. there is definitely no obvious link, it just shows on the variuos mapping devices you can carry.

Mystery area you can't get to
In the orchard area (Where the giants throw axes at you after falling out of a tree) on the far east side, the map shows a few squares the other side of the hedge, heading towards a shop, but there does not seem to be any way to get there. Anyone managed to get there? I hate unexplored areas.
