Re: DMSRP - Where it went and when it's coming back

Depending on size constraints, I may make both mp3 and ogg availabe for download. By the way, I'm using Sonar 2.0 now, which uses a new file format (cwp), so I need to know if anyone wants me to put the old Cakewalk (wrk) files up. Otherwise I'm just gonna put up the cwp's.

HMI driver update

This is an HMI driver update I put together for the PC version of DM2. It's based on the HMI driver for Anvil of Dawn. This driver update supports more sound cards than the DM2 driver. It also allows SoundBlaster PCI and Live! users to take advantage of the 8MB GM/FM synthesis built into our cards. ...

Re: dm2 on XP

Or you can find a copy of Partition Magic, which can partition your hard-disks without altering the data it already contains. I had to do this with my Win2k backup drive (NTFS). I created a one-gig FAT32 partition specifically so I could boot to MS-DOS and play DM2. :) Whatever you do, DON'T search ...

Re: Emu that runs Dungeon Master Nexus!!!

I'm extremely interested in playing it as well. If anyone happens to know where I could get a copy of Theron's Quest, I'd like to try that, too. I'm on a DM rampage at the moment, trying to get as much info as possible before I dive into my own clone project.

By the way, your utility is completely awesome. I really love the way you set it up to be viewed through web pages. Reminds me of the ngStats logging in Unreal Tournament. You've done outstanding work.

Re: DMSRP - Where it went and when it's coming back

<t>Christophe: Thank you VERY much! I got the attachment and am in the process of putting the site back online. I'll post a URL when it's ready. I did actually try to walkthrough the dungeon in DM-SNES to rip the music, but I believe the dungeon is slightly different, just enough so that you can't g...

Kentaro: Multiply the 6-bit RGB values by 4.047619 (this is the same as dividing by 63 and then multiplying by 255) and truncate the decimals. This will give you a value between 0 and 255, which is what you want.

Re: Contributions wanted!

<r>When I bought DM2 on a spur of the moment several years ago, it was $20 (US) and had the strategy guide included. I didn't need to use it until the end of the game, but I loved reading the adventures of Alran and his melancholy band of heroes. I might have been the only player in the world who pa...

Ideas Needed for New Clone

<r>Hi. My next game project is going to be a first-person adventure in the nature of Dungeon Master (which is why I post this here). I've played through both DM and its sequel (DM2 is still one of my all-time favorite games --- I started a new game just this morning), though I didn't have the patien...

DMSRP - Where it went and when it's coming back

<t>I just read a note in the FAQ at dmjump.net regarding my soundtrack recompilation project and how it mysteriously vanished so many eons ago. It's true that my server went down for some time, but the reason the project is not back up right now is because my computer was toast for a while, and unfo...

Re: Projectile dammage

Not sure. Everything in the game does damage when you throw it, but arrows and rocks seem to do a lot more than leather jerkins. I killed a mummy with a copper coin one time.

Your character probably didn't take much damage from the arrow because he was wearing armor.

DM Soundtrack - ONLINE

Hi everyone. I finally found some server space! Like I said, the first two songs from DM-SNES are completed and ready to roll in four different formats. More will come online as I get access to the originals (see SNES9X DM Petition post to find out how you can help). The site is: three.homeip.net/dm...

"Hall of Champions" song finished

Hi all. Just wanted to let the DM community know that I'm still working hard on re-arranging the soundtrack DM-SNES. For the uninitiated, this is my Dungeon Master Soundtrack Recompilation Project, in which I'm re-sequencing all the music from the SuperNES version of DM for much better sound quality...

Re: Cool things about DM2

My favorite part of DM2 (besides slaughtering axemen and seeing how many blue gems I could get from their axes) is the music. To this day, I am a MIDI freak. I've spent hundreds of dollars on hardware and software to make my MIDI's sound better. Interplay has some damned fine musicians working for t...

Re: Length of the game

Yo, I just played Lands of Lore for the first time last week, and I think it's pretty cool for its age. Still, I gave up on it fairly quickly because I kept getting killed by everything no matter which character I used. I agree with theadder's assessment of DM2's size. The game took up 25 megs of a ...

Coatyls are also very susceptible to Brandish. I never noticed War Cry actually doing anything to monsters, but your backrow baggage can actually gain fighter levels if you do it enough times.

Re: Your most favorite DM party?

Well, here's my favorite DM2 party: (I went so far as to "rewrite" the story to suit my own interests...) This is the story of Dragoth's first lieutenant, the incubus Azbraevan, who in his master's footsteps became too powerful for his own. Dragoth, seeing him as a threat, stripped Azbraev...

SNES9X Dungeon Master Support Petition!

Hi everyone. Adam Garland and I are starting a formal petition to request the development team of SNES9X (the Super Nintendo emulator) to add support for the SNES version of Dungeon Master, a game we both very much enjoy and would like to see become popular again. Adam contacted the lead designer of...
