Firebird totally rocks. I see a bright future for that product.

I am using 0.6.1 now because for some reason 0.7 is slow to draw on my newly upgraded machine. I think it has to do with me running on an old PCI video card, which will soon be replaced. The strange thing is that 0.6.1 is fast.

How much of this stuff should be part of the configuration of a dungeon vs. option in the player's own configuration file? With the UI graphics, it may be best as a player option, but with the walls/monsters/etc. it becomes more tricky.

How about a feature to remove a party member -- perhaps just temporarily (back to the mirror) -- thus enabling you to pick up another champion.

Lots of dungeon ideas come to mind here:
- hired thugs
- areas that can only be completed with one champion
- an area that only allows females to enter ...

It would be nice to be able to re-order the champions across the top of the interface.

I live in Ottawa now, but from Niagara Falls originally. There were lots of BBS in Niagara Region back in the 80s. Toronto had the greatest number by far, but that was long distance (very expensive back then).

I had a similar problem running Win2K.

In my case, I can load RTC from double-clicking the .exe file in the folder, but not from the shortcut on the start menu. I cannot explain why launching via the shortcut would be any different.

I meant to try to debug it, but there is way too much to do these ...

I am not clear from reading the postings. What exactly is the penalty for using the Altar?

I never had a problem seeing the iron and solid keys. Perhaps my brightness settings were different.

Regarding point #2:
On the Amiga versions of DM and CSB -- at least the ones I had -- the water graphic changed to an empty waterskin only when completely empty. So RTC is accurate from my experience.

As I remember it, all of those sounds you mentioned were present in the Amiga versions of DM and CSB. My Amiga is out of operation, so I can't check to be 100% sure...

It worked well for me. I did not find it slow at all!

BTW, I am running a 1.8 GHz P4-M laptop with 512MB and Netscape 7.0.

DME has Pat Mullen's "Maps, Lists and Answers for Chaos Strikes Back". I just looked through the entire thing. This looks completely different, based on the sample pages from the advertisment. The one I am talking about appears offical, from FTL.
