@Ameena - haha :D I mean, awww :( Yeah, it was a +1 bonus so +0 fort check overall. You won't get the +1 bonus next roll unless Westian prays for you again.

@LB, how long is your rest going to be? Is this an RP minor rest, or is Aurek really going an extended rest? Note your character would believe his daily abilities would literally be that - the amount of aid his dieties would grant him directly per day. Funnily enough, he should want sleep as per the other characters previously, but a decision you made earlier on should forstall that for now.

Obviously you still have healing ability, you can cast one LO VI potion every 5 - 10 minutes as long as you have a potion flask. You haven't actually exhausted your mana for that yet, so Aurek could cast one before recharging that.

Also, the corridor would not be the best place to rest - I would hope the group would retire back somewhere safer with Helm now he's slightly better. Technically speaking, you guys know that two of your exits (teleporter and these RA keyed doors) have soldiers escapped down them. And Farel and Aurek know they heard someone moving away from them in armour, and have not found that person after taking one corridor of a T-junction.

Long story short - when I've said to you guys for now you can metagame no danger to RP in, I was talking minutes not hours :p

Anyway, I guess I should see if I can put up a quick update right now... grrr, stupid lunchtime disappearing :(

I've posted again, changing my decision to rest :P
I know that my actions may take more than one round to complete, but that's because I may not be able to get online tomorrow (being busy hocking up a lung and all :P)... so I allowed for a "dual-round post" if need be. It also means that I wouldn't need to be autoed at all, if I can't get on.

Longer than one round actions are ok again now you're out of danger, don't worry. We'll mesh the timing with some hand waving :D At the moment the only 'clock tick' is Ameena's poison rolls, happenign roughly once a minute.

You guys in the teleporter room were always going to be slightly ahead of Ameena and Westian, so you can miss an update until we see where Westian and Ameena get to, then have you come through :D

Anyhows.... it'd be 1:12am now :(
I'm back to being pretty damn tired, and thus, I'm going to bed. I'll try to get online tomorrow, talk to you then.

But, having them make thier moves first, then have me come through... sounds like a plan.

ah, the happy DM sets up the paladin against the orc, and then happily settled back shrugging to let OB through Westian sort out the mess of 'official' and 'unofficial' protection :)

Meanwhile, Falkor is left with the NPCs!

And Westian will probably have one less finger...

Keep it up people :D My net's been funny this evening, still the first time it's happened in over a year, so can't complain too much!

Edit: Oh, money, if Falkor wants to try and remember more of what's been mentioned, roll me a will save.

LOL, I never even noticed. SOLD! No wait, your character is Westian. He can have the WES rune.

Seriously, if you are starved for something to do, try and map all the spells to runes...its scary how useful those two runes are!

BRO = anti-venom, all your boost potions, etc
OH = light (best), see through walls, poison cloud and bolt, lightning, etc

So yeah... not gunna hand those over cause you picked an appropriate name. Well, not without a d20 roll (cough -20 penalty DC30 cough)

LOL, yes I would like the WES rune please. :D

I did not notice the connection either until I read your earlier post. It seems my name was far more appropriate for DM than I ever realised!

Using it, you summon Wes Craven who creates a Freddy inspired nightmare to kill you - weeeeeeeeee.

@LB I forgot to say, love the decision to have Aurek that serious about his mission and keeping an eye on Westian :) Of course, in my mind Haynuus's enthusiam and Aurek's professionalism will class as both try to aid Westian the best. Which is why I know that's not what's going to happen, since you guys seem to love throwing interesting curve balls in how you play stuff all the time

Which is cool :D

It's a good point. Haynuus thinks he's on a mission, but get's sidetracked stopping big bugs squashing Murafu or Halflings. It's not like he's on a crusade or anything :)

Thought you might like it. You're the one who said paladins are "devout zealots that CHARGE into battle with evil"... so I thought that I'd use some of that ol' charging ability, and CHARGE after Westian. :P

I take it that this is what you meant: "Of course, in my mind Haynuus's enthusiam and Aurek's professionalism will clash as you both try to aid Westian the best."

You requested a Will save from everyone, but surely Ameena has no particular immediate reason to be remembering anything? I'd've thought she was a bit too generally smegged up (mentally and physically) right now to concentrate on anything like that. Still, you did say "everyone", so in case that also applied to half-dead, mentally buggered-up murafu, my Will save iiiiis...21 (19+2)!. And I bet that not only do I not need to have done that, but also I don't get another roll even half as good as that until I've already died of that bloody poison ;).

She's been thinking about how she doesn't know everyone all the time, and being delirious with pain is a good time to have weird visions :)

So the roll is good and useful....just, you know, you'll wish yu got 19 for the poison save :)

Anyway, so I think I've started to fill in everyone's backstory about why they are in Mount Anaias a little bit more, so hopefully all the characters can at least feel a little more comfortable and ready to carry on with...whatever goal they decide to carry on with.

Out of interest, show of hands here (or PM to me) - how many players think the current set of memories I've been feeding you recently are real?

Interesting question. To Haynuus if he recalls a scenario from his fractured memory, it's real. If he sees the fleeting shape of an animal in a fire, it's real. If he is cured by the laying of hands in the name of some God, it's real.

Unlike a paladin, however, Haynuus would easily change allegiances or mission as new information pops up.

@Ameena - did you miss the mention of the herb pouch by Westian? I can't remember what you said about it before, but I think water + herbs is a valid option for smelling something else. The herbs are not so old they woulnd't have some scent.

I never thought that those memories were real, I always knew they were part of a fantasy game that we were playing and unrelated to my real life.

Ok, bad joke, sorry. :D I did think they were real, but now I am not so sure...

I don't think I will be around this weekend (although I probably will be next weekend and then for Christmas).

Beo - feel free to autopilot Westian. It should be pretty clear what he will do: try to find a place to rest, carry Ameena, and try to block any unpleasant smells!

Safe areas summary: back towards the door is unexplored or has potentially informed blacskulls at the door (the group might intuit this is where Brohur went), the other way has a pit. Back in the teleporter room, back the way Aurek went is the cell where Farel and Aurek were... there is no reason the jailors should be back to feed them anytime soon (not much time has passed since their escape) but there was that pesky armour sound the two heard that they haven't tracked

Through the RA-keyed door, the door is closeable, and might be re-openable with the RA key Falkor has. Apparently there is a decision of avoiding the kings or not - which might lead to an exit.

Regarding the memories, I'm not sure about their validity - what with one thing and another, stuff clashing etc, I don't know what's real and what's not...that's if any of it is real - maybe none of it is, and it's just being "fed" into the minds of our characters to give them reasons to want to stay in the dungeon and umm...do stuff.
Oh, and about the herb pouch...yeah, I did notice Westian's mention of it. Ameena just neglected to bring it up, probably due to being totally bllaaaarrggghhh and all, you know? ;) What will these herbs smell like, Wuffy, or shall I just make that up when the time comes, if we end up using them?
