Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
The half-orc lifted his head off the ground and said "It worked!..." but then saw stars "I think." Was it still the spell, or being in the presence of the holy cleric? A flying paladin landing on his head perhaps?
Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
The evil leg wear came free surprisingly easily, like any normal gear. One could suspect the half-orc was simply reacting to his new water and basic rations diet as opposed to rat and beer, except for the fact the voices and sadness in his head stopped instantly,. That, and his legs could move again.
Haynuus felt no ill effects from the exposure (the benefit of the last will save) but apparently the walls in the hall did not agree. The howl of them continued, even as the greaves were discarded. As Aurek helped Haynuus up, it was hard to even speak.
"Surely we cannot go back!" yelled Sir Farel, slapping the half-orc on the back when he realised his companion was now back with them. "Whatever this is, I suggest haste and pushing forward!"
Brighteyes was mouthing something, which all save Falkor could hear. The gnome then cupped his hands to his mouth, apparently grimacing as items fell on his feet, and more importantly the sound went for his ears. "ISN'T THIS FACINATING?" he cried out. "THROW ME THE ARMOUR!"
Haynuus of cource subconsciously shifted the armour away, which the gnome seemed to notice. He shrugged, and walked over to the wall. It was even more pronounced that Brighteyes possessed a light spell, as the light scampered around the walls. Falkor had a front row seat to the tortured shapes in stark relief. Half wrapped, half revealed faces, barely held together cadavers. Surely they could not be buried in the wall?
And then what Aurek had seen previously became more pronounced...the hands moved, and worse pushed forwards. Crumbling areas of wall that had looked so secure a moment ago fell to the ground. The wall was moving. The wall as far as the eye could see...even the sharp eyes of Westian.
"This is very odd," said Brighteyes, although the screaming meant it may as well have been to himself.

You have one round's worth of actions you can take before ...well, you know that scene at the end ofthe mummy where mummies come out of the walls? Yeah.... you know the scene...
The question is, do you follow Farel's assertion to go forward? Do you fall back...knowing there are about four golem behind you in a narrow corridor with a dodgy door behind that? Though of course you have two infront with a potentially dodgy door there too.
What's a party to do? Good question - I'm interested to see the answer! I usually tell you guys how screwed you are at this point. Just to jinx you, I'll tell you that you should be ok - as long as you can figure out why this is happening, and act accordingly. And most importantly, learn from the lessons of your previous combats and act like a well oiled team...
I won't wish you good luck...not until tomorrow
Oh, and if you guys want to some hints, you can always roll a level check (1d20+2) with an ability modifier added for the ability you want to bias for - eg intelligence for tactics, wisdom for intuition.

Haynuus was back!... And so was trouble. His antics had caused them to lose valuable seconds when they really needed it. He thought at first the writhing-walls was a side effect to the spell but looking into the knights eyes he knew that he wasnt the only one horified by what was going on. He made a decision, and it may well mean a club to the head for it.
He moved as fast as he could OOC - double move to N4, sandwiched nicely between the golems and directed his shouting at the gnome as he passed by - him being the only 'unknown' in his party. "Move or die, gnome!" OOC - Intimidate +3 (1d20+3=5) Unforunately it didn't seem to have much of an effect, as the gnome returned the gesture with a broad and gleeful smile on his face. He continued, "Get to the door, everyone. Fighters at the back while Brighteyes opens the door. Just keep away from those walls!"

Westian agreed with the half-orc's logic and sprinted towards the door, or at least as fast as he could in his armour. "Everyone, come on!" he shouted, and he hoped everyone would follow.

After seeing Haynuus and Westian virtually take to flight down the room, Aurek didn't need to be told what to do... he ran full speed after them! As he passed the gnome, he grabbed him by his shirt collar and dragged Brighteyes along with him.
OOC: I don't know where I'll finish up as I'm not sure how fast I can move while dragging a dodgy gnome... but I'm aiming for M4

Owing to the vaguries of the initiative order and how everyone acted, while Brighteyes and Haynuus are the last in initative order, they are taking the lead from the previous round
I'll avoid Falkor's actions for now, as detailed in the OOC.
Brighteyes was meandering, looking with honest curiosity to the wall and then back again. "Oh my. Oh my my. They really are riled up! Are you sure I cannot take the greaves? This is so facinating!" He positively had to yell this across the hallf as the howl reached its highest pitch.
The gnome then came back to find himself being yelled at by the rapidly moving Haynuus. The gnome indeed looked amused at the half-orc's antics, possibly not hearing exactly what the half-orc said. "These wretched creatures are harmless! Well, I suppose except in one case, but that's hardly applicable now, is it?" Brighteyes started laughing again, right up until Aurek grabbed the gnome and yanked the creature sideways, at which point his air supply was temporarily cut off. However, the weight of Aurek's armour and the gnome meant the paladin was only a quarter of the way across the hall compared to the now nimble half-orc.
Aurek was surprised when a blur came passed him, however Westian had focused on the task at hand - to reach the RA doorway sparkling in the distance. It had taken him a moment to focus, but once he had neither absuing the gnome nor regarding the wall stood in the cleric's way of making ground.
Sir Farel had been right behind the paladin and half-orc in action, though he had apparently stopped to take the greaves thus making him appear the slowest to act. "Run, find the mage and my squire!" the knight bellowed above the noise. "If these fiends want this, they shall have it!"
All of a sudden, whether it was co-incidence or because of Farel's action, sudden;y the screaming stopped. There was a moment of perfect quiet....
And then there was a final scream.
In unison the creatures embedded in the wall pushed themselves free. Brickdust filled the air, and Brighteyes sneezed aswell as he could.
One score and four shambling things - barely more than skeletons, certainly less than mummies - stood sniffing the air and flicking their heads around. It appeared they all took a moment to orient themselves towards the centre of the room - almost as if they were looking to Haynuus's or Brighteyes's position with malevolent interest.
And then the creatures, like a flood, lifted their arms, opened their fragile maws, and started to surge forwards...
Please look towards this map: http://www.dmjump.net/golemhallfight1.jpg , and then join me in the OOC forum for a few comments on what will happen now.

Falkor sensed all was not well, he gave Brighteyes a quick look, and as things started to happen ran straight for the far door. Something told Falkor that a few fireballs were not to help here. If things turned ugly he could come back and help the others, but for now it made sense to get across to the far side.
OOC: Falkor runs straight to (I think) T3.

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Standing in awe at the sight of walls coming alive Haynuus did the math. Things were bad. Worse still if each one of them were separated by all of these things. If only they could stand back to back, or fight with their backs against the wall. With them being so spread out they HAD to converge, reduce 'surface area' and deny a dozen of those things a free swing. In Haynuus' mind it was essential then that they moved as one, and get to either side of the corridor and even out the odds. The decision wasn't that hard. They were 'encumbered' by people of short stature (and questionable intentions) who were effectively on the left hand side of the room.
"Westian! Defend as one by the others!" OOC - In this parallel universe that we have, please move before the critters do! "To meeeee!"
The half-orc then moved to H5 charging with his falchion at the beastie at G6 (1d20=2). The problem was that on his way past the gnome he caught a look in his face of what looked like happiness-in-observing-the-effects-of-impending-doom-on-your-fellow-companions-while-disregarding-your-own-situation. It was more than a little unnerving.

Upon seeing the look on the face on Brighteyes, I can't believe that he's enjoying this! thought Aurek, and released his grip on the disgusting little gnome, and shoved him aside (OOC: not as an action, just for narrative). The paladin, seeing that the situation was indeed quite grim, he ran over to the wall (G5) and swung his sword at the neck of the "skeleton zombie thing" that now stood before him (G6, attack 1d20 = 12, damage 1d8 = 7). It was then that he noticed Farel and Haynuus approach, and close in on both sides...

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
More undead. That thought was enough to stop Westian in his tracks. The walking dead, the vilest evil in the eyes of all good High Lords. His anger at their presence was somewhat tempered by the sheer weight of numbers, so both rage and fear fought for control of his body and mind. Seeing Haynuus’s change of direction he charged after him, but after a few steps it was clear he was dropping behind. He lurched forward, but saw that Farel and Aurek were also well outside of his reach – the undead would get to him before he would make it to his companions. As the skeletons began to move he decided that he had no choice but to meet them straight on. “Your fate is sealed, monsters. By the High Lords will this will be your last day of sacrilege!” He tried to prevent his voice shaking from fear as he spoke, and holding his shield forward he charged directly into a nearby undead. Pushing him backwards with his shield he swung his sword over his head, attempting to land a blow on the creature.
OCC: I think K5 is as far as I can get. Attack roll was 8 + 5 = 13. Hmmm…not great. Just in case that lands a blow, damge is 2 + 2 = 4

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
"Run, you fools!" yelled Farel, still brandishing the greaves deteminedly and bracing himself for an attack
However the party were instant in their reactions. The three fighters were a wall of force, rushing to smash the forces that were beginning to move. Aurek with precision, and Westian with his righteous fury, managed to smite a creature each. Haynuus, amazingly, managed to miss his intended target. For Aurek and Westian, the result was the creature before them almost bursting into a shower of bones where the blade struck. The thing fell to the ground in parts, parts that immediately fellt to dust. The dust whipped around and was pulled back into the wall.
Meanwhile, the reason Haynuus missed was a facinating one. At least for Brighteyes.
"Why are you bothering? They're harmless! They won't bother you!" he said with childish glee, and indeed the creatures that had been beside Haynuus and Farel simply turned a shoulder and moved away without care, which caused Farel to stand dumbfounded with the armour still in hand, and Haynuus to curse as his weapon hit air.
For the targets of the horde seemed to be Aurek and Westian.
Both black-clad men were surrounded by a press of bodies - only the swings and movement of the warriors kept the press from crushing in. Worse for Westian, the mob from the other side of the hall poured across, beginning to swarm. The cleric had perhaps a few seconds before a crowd surged around him.
For Falkor at least, this was not a bad thing. The halfling ran full pelt towards the door, realising that the rest of the party had moved the other way. Instead of a wall of creatures tearing him apart, a wall of creatures ignored him with indifference. Unfortunately, with the creatures and the party Falkor's light was also deserting him. The faint glow of the apparently fully functioning RA door - despite how intermittent it had looked before - was the only source of light currently at this side of the wall, and the hall and surroundings were only dimly visible.
While Aurek was able to able to hold the crowd at bay with only a few claws raked harmlessly off his armour, Westian alreayd felt a claw tear into a weak joint from the slashing horde. Luckily it was a light dig, but the sudden terrifying occurrence of the swarm was hammered home.
And lucky for you OB, for now, you only take 3hp damage. Oh, and roll me a d20 roll for kicks, would you please?
Sir Farel got over his temporary confusion and sliced at one of Aurek's attackers, a powerful clubbing blow turning the barely assembled cadaver in to dust that was sucked into the wall.
"I thought the armour was the soldiers' armour!" called Brighteyes in facination, "You had your armour blessed? That's not good! They hate anything priestly!"
Brighteyes stood aside as creatures swarmed towards the two warriors, and he shrugged, making his circuitous way to the door with shuffling movements. "I suppose the rest of you should follow me!" he called over his shoulder. He sounded very sad about that...though possibly only in the case of the facinating Westian.
Yeah, you know, either you are wearing blessed armour, or, you know, perhaps you just didn't reveal you were a cleric and a paladin to Brighteyes. and the gnome ignorantly led you into the worst room possible because he didn't think you were the religeous type. One of those.
Surprise!

Things were looking pretty bad when suddenly the half-orc observed that despite the huge numbers, they weren't actually attacking him or Farel. Westian and Aurek however were in the thick of it! What seemed like a thousand arms reached out and attempted to grab at these 'beacons of light'. Occasionally it paid off not promising your soul to the High Lords and to work tirelessly against evil - as the evil buggers don't like it.
Westian was all but surrounded and was already receiving blows from all around, while the paladin was merely flanked. Haynuus made the decision to charge and stand by the cleric's side (J5) in order to attack the fiend behind him (J6) in an attempt to at least get the cleric with his back to the wall. Ignoring the consequences of those undead he already stood next to he pounced away from them and got his head down in a short sprint to the cleric's side. It was like running into a wall of rotting flesh and embarrassing smells but it had the advantage of being a great medium to easily transfer all of your momentum to - via a rather large sword. He swung out at the solitary creature that was currently scraping the backplate of the paladin. (1d20=20) The sight of a lone warrior facing the onslaught of evil had supercharged his senses!

Seeing the movement in the room, albeit from afar, Falkor realised his fellow warriers were in trouble. He also believed he would have little to fear as they only seemed interested in some of the group. Falkor moved back towards Brighteyes, (M2) and spoke quietly.. "What can they do to stop these attacks? It's important that they all stay together, for now"

One monster down, but how many more left? He could see the relative safety of the other group, but he knew he would not get to them. He resolved that if he was to die he would take down as many as his foes as possible, they would pay dearly for his life. That thought tipped his state of mind from fear back into anger. Just as he prepared to swing again he heard movement behind him, and glancing over his shoulder he saw the half-orc swiftly disposing of two of the undead. With a sense of relief he saw that his back was now safe, the horde no longer had him completely surrounded. He lashed out with his blade, feeling it make contact, and took a step back closer to the wall.
OOC: Attack roll was 13 + 5 = 18, damage 6 + 2 = 8. If possible Westian takes a 5-foot step to J6 (is this possible with all the beasties grabbing him?). AoO attack = 9 + 5 = 14, damage = 6 + 2 = 8.

Aurek cried out to his fellow afflicted companion while smashing the skull of one of the hideous monsttrocities. The body count now up to four, which still left a full score of these creatures apparently determined to drag the holy warriors down into whatever torment they endured because of Chaos.
Meanwhile, Haynuus took the more direct approach, and rushed over to Westian's aid. This time, he was able to take careful aim and with a huge swing that luckily missed Westian, behaded two of the foul creatures with ease, and smashed the side of the third. All three were done to howling dust in the blink of an eye.
Westian's righteous anger took another cleanly, but he then took advantage of the lack of pressure at his back to move towards the wall. While Haynuus and Westian stood shoulder to shoulder, the mob moves forwards. For the moment, Westian and Haynuus managed to keep a respectful distance maintained but the sheer pressure of bodies was unnerving. Westian felt a small niggling ache from where he had been previously injured, but it soon stopped bothering him and he could concentrate on the wide-mouthed half-faces before him.
Didn't need your AoO after all, since Westian moved
Meanwhile, Aurek's foes were able to get closer, so he could smell the stench of their bodies in his nostrils. His armour - for now - stopped the claws from tearing into him. Aurek managed to catch one in an instinctive blow as it got too close, and Sir
Farel showed his skill with the blade by dispatching two of them in precise cuts. The odds- for now - were even for the pair.
I rolled LB's AoO for him, so it's all good. Aurek is now impeded by the critters being right up to him, but it's the same impediments they suffer if they attack him, so it balances out to the same dice rolls needed on both sides.
Meanwhile, Falkor had falled back to where Brighteyes was watching the contest, the gnome in deepest facination. "How do we stop it? Well, I suppose that Westian fellow is rather interesting. Hmm, I suppose the easiest way is to hold them off until the golems start acting I mean, they're tasked to destroy these things if they try to escape. It wouldn't be surprised if the ones we passed have already blocked the corridor by now. Oh, look!"
As if on cue, there was a rumble from the stone creature beside the pair of small humanoids. Even as Brighteyes pointed it out, the stone golem's head tilted down a little to look at the swarm in the distance, and in its hand, the stone club shifted.
So there we go, a round survived with no injuries! Not even residual ones!

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Haynuus squealed with glee as he dropped three on one humungous swirling attack. Best swing ever! Suddenly the odds didn't seem so overstretched after all. With Westian taking a wise step back the ever shifting wall of walking corpses pressed in as an impressive line in front of them, overlapping around the half-orc.
It was then he heard his old shaman commune with him.
Haynuus... Haynuus... Use the force Haynuus. And he was right! All Haynuus had to do was close his eyes and swing his meaty arms around (conveniently attached to a sword) like a furiously flappinig blind bat and he'd take few heads off. Hopefully not Westians. Gritting his teeth he swung from right to left. (1d20=12, 1d20=9, 1d20=5)
Somewhat over-balancing from the act, possably due to the fact he disorientated himself, he took an unsteady 5' step back (to I6). It was then he felt the humongous golems. Not being either a wizard or a geologist he didn't know their intentions, and he hoped that the golems could swathe through the horde before they start mashing on him or the cleric. Suddenly he felt overawed once more. He only knew one thing about golems and that they were created by their masters either by Petrification or Lithification but they were really pissed off either way about it.

Aurek grinned as the creature fell to dust in front of him. At that moment, he felt two creatures on his back... he ducked out of the way of their attacks and shifted his position to a few feet away (H6), attempting to duck out of the way of the flailing limbs of these undead things.
Once at his destination, he turned his attention to the nearest undead (H5, attack 1d20 = 18, damage 1d8 = 7 this thing's gonna get it good!
hehehe) and let out a vicious battlecry as his sword cleaved through its neck. The head, now detatched its undead owner's body, fell toward the floor, turning to dust midair. Then the body started to tip over, and also fell into a scattered pile of dust.

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
The rumblings from the nearby golems went unnoticed by Westian, being drowned out by the more immediate sounds of battle around him. Indeed the swarm of creatures took his entire focus as they struggled to reach him, and he now only had a vague awareness of where his companions were situated. Things were getting cramped, and swinging his sword in these tight confines was difficult. Instead he switched to a stabbing motion – crouching down slightly with his shield held just below eye level and striking out in straight lines. He felt himself make contact with another inhuman body, as he saw Haynuus dispatch some more.

Falkor looked at the tall stone creature that was coming alive in front of him, he started to 'get' the Gnomes perspective on things, it was indeed fascinating. Still, he was not about to be trampled while looking at the stone creature and moved the far side of Brighteyes (k2). The others seemed to be managing as well, although they were surrounded they seemed to be fighting off the little critters just fine without the need of his help.
Continuing his discussion with the Gnome, "this will be interesting, i've never seen a Golem in action... Will they just see off the critters or will they attack the others also?"

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Lol, and thus is Falkor tempted over to the dark side... well, the 'eh, they're fine' side. You can't trust these knee-high humanoids!
Aurek handily dealt with another foe. The creatures were almost too easy to destroy, and too slow and clumsy to pose much of a threat, apparently. He quickly moved to put his back against the wall for better tactical advantage.
Haynuus quickly joined Aurek, after first spinning a few times with his sword. In some ways Westian was shocked, as it left him more explosed, and in another he was relieved. Haynuus had felled six of the creatures with a single spin - and had come an inch from doing the same to Westian!
(Not really, just narrative giggles. Though Haynuus was actually in weapon's reach of six critters, so I rolled a few extra attack rolls. For the moment, you guys are pretty much guaranteed to take these things out! Well, Haynuus is, first miss notwithstanding!)
Westian himself make a concerted blow to one of his foes and it crumbled. It was at about this time, as all the dust flew around the legs of the champions and back into the wall, that they realised that the wall was both refprming behind them as when they had arrived, but was not returning to its passive state. The leering faces and wiggling hands of the wall could not reach them, and yet they were animated enough to reveal that when the time was right, and they had strength in numbers again, apparently they would break free once more.
It was with this comforting thought in mind that the cadavers surged forward to follow the movement of Aurek and Haynuus. The line of the party held against the line of the things. The grasping claws found no purchase, although one almost found Westian's eye save for a well placed shield.
Farel moved forward, chopping left and right to remove the final two enemy that had plagued Aurek. However, instead of nodding to Aurek at the aid, the man turned in shock at a nosie he heard. For in the corridor, with deep rumbling footsteps, a golem had loomed into dim view.
Meanwhile, in the main hall Falkor moved just in time over to behind Brighteyes before the lumbering creature in the alcove strode forwards with huge, powerful strides. Brighteyes seemed unconcerned, giving it a brittle smile and a handwave. He'd lost all his scrolls and items when Aurek had yanked him a few moments before, but this new sight seemed to make him forget that.
The huge stone creatue met the other that had emerged from its own alcove, and was even now standing facing the much reduced mob attacking the party.
"Oh, it is ever so impressive. I have only ever seen it twice, you know. Once form the other side of the RA door, and once trapped in here. Really amazing. Hmm, well to be honest, I'm not sure what the golems do to the living in their way, there never was any left before. I can see why you would want such powerful and interesting warriors kept alive! Oh my yes! In a long-legged world, it's best to find a way to make them work for you! Oh my, yes!" Brighteyes laughed a little, and then paused.
"I do so hope the golems don't want to attack the wall your friends are standing infront of. That would be unfortunate."
And there we have it. I apologise, I noticed a round or two back I'd said 24 critters instead of 28, and forgot to correct it. More importantly, you are doing so well, and nothing bad can be about to happen to anyone at all whatsoever.
In the spirit of that, OB, since you are technically behind the golems in initiative, could you roll me a d20 as a will save? If you don't make it, then you can either move or attack, but not both.
Otherwise, carry on as normal!

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Haynuus was getting sensory overload. Both of the righteous guys from the religious order were either side of him and were being engulfed by rotting corpses. That said they seemed to be revelling in their duties to correct the things that were unholy in their being - by swinging and destroying their very existence. Haynuus himself was ecstatic in taking out as many as possible and was surprised at just how frail the undead can be, returning them to their 'original state'. It was then he actually took in the fact that not only were the golems moving and looming in on them, but the half-pinted races were having a chat on the side-lines mouthing words such as fascinating and interesting to each other.
It was then the wall started moving behind him and all the way back down to the gloomy distance. Again. Oh boy.
"The walls again!" he warned.
"The golems!" he added in case someone was a bit too over zealous and concentrating too much on cleansing the undead.
"The f*cking short people!" he despaired.
He did what he thought was best and swung his sword to attack the first rotter to his right and didn't intend to stop the swing until he heard a gnomish whimper. (1d20=13, 1d20=17, 1d20=3) Next he moved into the space his sword left OOC - H5? assuming he knocked it down
OOC - Turn undead and step into the spirals of grey dust dudes!

"We need to get away from these things and away from the walls." Aurek stated. Perhaps my holy abilities will aid me in killing these things he thought. He focused his holy energy, and unleased it on the undead enemy with a blood-thirsty warcry (turn undead 1d20 = 11).
After watching the others hack these undead to bits, Aurek seized the opportunity to move away from the wall (H4, if possible. If not, 5ft step to H5)

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
The hordes were falling, but still outnumbered the group. At first Westian was too busy swinging to pay much heed to his companions, but in a brief lull he caught sight of Aurek rebuking the dead. A faint whiff of mana came to his nostrils, and a remembrance of times past, of stories about priests invoking the name of their High Lord to cow those who did not belong on this world. This was something Westian had never done before – in his daily life the restless dead rarely bothered him. But if he was going to start clearly this was a good time. Putting his faith in the High Lords he held still and called out to the creatures in front of him “Through the power of Lord Larethian and his devoted church, his enemies shall be scattered to the ends of the earth. The wicked shall fall at the mention of his name.”

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Aurek recalls the zealot-like instructor he had as an initiate. The man was as driven a tool of the High Lords as you could ever have set eyes upon, and yet none of those he taught could hide the humour in their reaction as he had told of the power in their imple voice - the power of calling upon their faith in times of need against the foulest abominations.
Of course, at the time there was no undead to demonstrate upon. At the time, it was simply a matter of the man's intense eyes and loud voice that told the prospective paladins to believe. However, it was not until one was in this situation one tested that belief.
Two of the three creatures that he screamed defiance at fell back as if shocked, as if in pain. They moved back in a lopping movement back topwards the furthest wall, and scrambled as if to get back inside.
The third creature, the one closest to Aurek stood tall. However, there was a hesitation in his movements. For a moment, Aurek looked properly at the thing in front of his... and then it dissolved into dust as Haynuus finished his cleave.
Haynuus was as confused about what had happened as he was about the innaction of the two shorter party members. At one moment there were four creatures before him. However, even as he took his brutal swing, two simply rushed off. Was he that terrifying? And Aurek was screaming something about...something...
Still, Haynuus's swing took one creature by Westian and one creature by Aurek by surprise, adding two more whipping winds of ash that slid back into the wall. Haynuus also moved away from the wall for whatever macho reason he could convince the others of.
Falkor and Brighteyes seemed content to stay where they were, perhaps looking to the odd creatures scrambling at the wall closeby.
I'll leave money to make a delayed action next round if he wants...last round he seemed content to watch!
Westian was stealing himself to face the now much reduced odds, when the floor shook. The two golems moved, surrounding the creatures that were - in turn - trying to surround Westian. Their oddly white eyes flared. The golem directly infront of his seemed to be concentrating on the creatures before Westian. However, the golem to the side was casting his gaze wider at the whole mob...and Westian found he couldn't help but turn to face the eyes of it.
The sound of the stone clubs smashing on the floor, easly crushing the two creatures to dust that were closest to them, brought Westian back to his senses. Whatever odd property the golems' eyes possessed, he had managed to shake it off. The creatures before him - with their oddly slowed movements - had not.
Instead, Westian focused his faith on the three pitiful creatures trying hard to move towards him - as if they were in the water. Temporarily forgotten were thoughts on the power of the High Lords compared to the power of the group. He yelled definace in the name of Larethian, and apparently that name held power even over those who seemed to hate the High Lords.
The three creatures before him as one turned and tried to flee aroudn the legs of the golems. Two met an end as the golems' clubs were lifted up with powerful upswings. Only one creature, him movements juddering and slow, managed to make it to the wall.
Perhaps seeing the wall, Westian was reminded of the odd hands behind him. After seeing the power of the golems, Westian needed no further persuasion to not be in the way.
However, it seemed as if the golems were not interested in the wall for the moment. They turned their heels and looked towards the three scrambling creatures.
Farel had already made a move around the golems, perhaps to ensure the gnome was not doing anything duplicitous. He smashed one of the creatures into dust with a grim expression.
"What are you doing, gnome?" he snarled. "why don't you move?" To falkor he was a little more civil. "For goodness sake move, you are between the golem and these last lost souls!"

Haynuus caught the Cleric's and Paladin's simultaneous rantings and shouting. The unseemly mountain of undead before them either fell away into dust or were helped along by the old fashioned way - with Haynuus's sharp end of a sword. The half-orc was impressed! This use of this type of magick had amazing effects although he'd still stick to his shamanistic principals as it never runs out.
With the walls regenerating their death once more and the onset of yet more golems appearing from back where they came they had to get out of here. "To the door!"
He bolted to Brighteyes and decided to physically pick up the gnome and run to the shimmering door at the far end, ignoring the golems. Haynuus pointed to the ever shifting walls, "You are in great danger!" he shouted to the gnome. He neglected to say, however, that it was Haynuus that presented the greatest danger to him. OOC - Run up to T3 or as close as he can get carrying a porky gnome (1d20=9)
