I'd be surprised that your floppy disks work! I know when I dug out my old ones, half of them wouldn't read anymore :(

Hi Everyone,

Gambit told me to write something about me to show that i am not a Spambot. :-)

So im 36 Years old and life in Germany. When Dungeonmaster came out, I only had a bad copy that had that damn copyprotection :-) So I could never come to the end. ;-) Somedays later I bought a Memory Extension for my Amiga and there was the Original Dungeon Master. I finally could Fuse Old Lord Chaos. I was really astonished when I read that there was a second ending a few weeks ago.

Ok this to my past meeting with Dungeon Master. Last year I stumbled across the remakes/clones of the games and I felt like a Kid again. and with that I wanted to know more about the Game. I looked into the CSBWin Code, looked at this clone and that clone and then I got my IPhone. And with the Iphone and all the old classical games coming back (Beneath a Steal Sky, Monkey Island).. I thought it would be great to create an own DungeonMaster Clone. So i coded a lot in C++ (some Editor for an own graphics.dat) to be used for this purpose. but my main problem came: I have no Mac to develop for iPhone. So the whole project got a bit .. sleepy .. until i got my hands on an Android Handy. And here I am. Registered to the DM Forum to get Informations on Structures and Data and coding a DM Clone in Java. (a real clone, not something similar like the DMJava ;-)

Hope I told enough to show Im not a bot ;-) *wink gambit*

If someone has a question, just write me a mail :D

Brgds

Zomg, but he is so blatantly spamming about some game called "Dungeon Master" which surely no-one else has even heard of. Quick! Quick! Someone ban Trant...errr, I mean, the horrible evil nasty spambot .

Anyway, welcome Cycl0ne, have fun making your DM clone, and playing all the dungeons and all that. Hope it turns out good :D.

Welcome to the forums from me too, Cycl0ne! It's amazing how many people remember and love this game so much so that they dedicate their time recreating some of the magic from back then!

Hello all!
I'm John, 31, from SW UK.

I am a DM fan from when it came out on the Atari ST.
I actually played Bloodwych first, which I absolutely loved.
A friend got me in to DM and I was hooked on that too.

Have been looking at run-throughs and other clips of DM gameplay on Youtube, which led me here.
I still have an Atari ST in a garage somewhere, along with all my olf floppy disks (for that matter, I also have my old ZX Spectrum and all its tapes!), but would love to get a version of DM to run on my PC to play.

I look forward to sharing info and memories of the game with you all, and with any luck, play it again on my PC.

Cheers

Welcome to the forums!

The Dm encyclopaedia http://dmweb.free.fr/ has lots of cool stuff, including the original version of the game for PC, and easy access to the clones including CSBwin which lets you play the atari versions of DM and CSB on your PC very, very easily!

Oh, hello, Ofense, and welcome to the forums! :D

I'm John too! :)

It's cool that your Atari ST still works (or, perhaps it works...). Mine doesn't. I've never seen a ZX Spectrum working, but I know this platform very well because the best "Czechoslovak" computer before 1989 was "Didaktik" which was an illegal / pirate copy of ZX Spectrum produced in socialist Czechoslovakia. :|

Welcome!

If you look around a bit here and in the quick links, you'll find everything you're looking for and more. Downloads and emulators for every dungeon master version ever, incl. DM1 for Atari, Amiga, PC and some other systems, Chaos Strikes Back for Atari, Amiga and ported as a PC-DM1 dungeon, direct ports to Windows (CSBWin), clones (DM-Java, RTC, DSB), Dungeon Master II (Legend of Skullkeep) for Amiga and PC (and RTC), and even the japanese 3D Dungeon Master (Nexus - maybe someday even in English).

You'll also find lots of additional dungeons incl. a DMJ and RTC version of Eye of the Beholder I. PC-DM, CSBwin and RTC offer a great choice of cool custom dungeons. If you want to play all of them you'll be busy for ages.

Have fun!

Hellooo Ofens, welcome to the realms of madnes and insanity and erm...oh yeah, that really cool computer RPG from the late 80s :D. Hope you have fun getting back into playing the game again - don't forget to tell us all your silly stories of how you've managed to get yourself killed in various stupid and embarrassing ways :D.

Hi. I'm new to the board as registered member, but i've been lurking for the past 4 years. Dunno what made me decide to finally sign up...but here I am.
My name is Raixel, im 29 and live in Seattle, USA. I've been playing DM and clones since I was 8, and it makes me happy to see this board is still kicking. I'm also interested in D&D (as long as it's not 4th ed), CRPGS, video games, and general nerdiness. If anyone needs a playtester, i'd be happy to sign up as i'm not very busy at this time (stupid economy  )

Hey, welcome to the forum :). I like DnD 4th edition - it's less, errm, numbery, than 3.5 so I find it easier to do, less complicated and stuff. Lots of people don't seem to like 4th editin but meh, I do and it's fun and I spent most of yesterday playign it :D.
Anyway, woo, new member, have fun here...well, more fun, now that you're actually posting and not just lurking ;). Do you have any interesting/funny/embarrassing DM stories to share with us?

Well, I can't believe I'm puttin this on the internet for the world to see and be immortalized in all time... But back when I used to play DM with my friend on our Apple when I was about 8-10, the mummies scared us so bad, when one attacked we would actually freak out and run around the room yelling (and end up gettin our hind ends kicked cuz we were too busy freaking to fight). This happened EVERY single time there was a scary-ish monster, (ghost, skeleton ect) so you can imagine how far we got. I'm just glad we didnt have an Amiga, we prolly woulda peed ourselves.

Rofl that's fantastic :D. I can remember not liking Scorpions much, and not wanting to get too close to the Dragon (like the Scorpies, he makes a scary noise, which made me slightly nervous of Giant Rats and, in CSB, Hellhounds too), but I never actually freaked out like that, lol. Aaw that's quite cute ;).
