OOC - Ahh I didn't know I could move anyway. Can't Ameena just move forward slowly till her whiskers touch something, then stop, or does that still count to provoke an AOO? I'll wait, anyway, till Westian does something - he might manage something which affects its invisibility...

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Indeed it would. The reason you provoke an AoO doing many of the tricker things like grapples, bull rushes, unarmed strikes without training, disarms, etc, is because you have to get much closer to them, so they have the chance to strike you first. And think about it, mmoving slowly means you are just lining yourself up for a shot! You could use your standard action to ready a move action. So 'if Westian is hit, Ameena moves to flank'. Against invisible creatures, you don't get sneak attack damage, but it does mean WEstian woulld get the +2 to strike, and more importantly you guys would be better lined up to co-ordinate where the thing is.

OOC - I'd get +2 to hit it too, surely, if we're flanking it? Not just Westy? I'll wait and see what he does for now anyway.

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Westian needed to get to water to see if Aurek was alive, but the constant assault of creatures meant that it was impossible. The horrid thought of Aurek meeting such an awful death was worse than the weakness in his body or the shock from the invisible assailant.
Anger and irritation raged to the surface, this thing stood between him and his bodyguard. The smell of death and Ameena's comment was enough to convince the cleric that it was worth rebuking the creature.
Grabbing onto his holy symbol he held it out in front of his body and began to walk in the direction of the creature. The silver moon somehow seemed appropriate in the darkness of the cavern. "In the name of Lord Larethian I command you to leave this place".
Turning was 18 + 3 (level) + 2 (Cha) + 2 (bluff synergy) + 2 (persuasive) + 2 (cleric) + 2 (holy symbol) = 31. Is that right? I have not fully got my head around my bonus, I need to write it down when I figure it out. Of course the creature may not be undead, in which case it is all academic!

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Seems fine to me, except you forgot you have five ranks in religeon, which gains you another +2. So that's 33! I think something extra special is required here. Cool! I guess this really has turned into 'let's have you guys kick ass according to your classes' strengths.
Ameena's yelling confirmed to Westian the foul creature had not moved away yet. Instead of cold steel or nature, Westian decided to trust in the High Lords, and Larethian's grace.
The power Westian felt, the sheer anger and pride seemed to first strike his own head. There was an odd feelign of sickness that passed, and Westian could almost hear an elvish scream in his mind. A fraction of a moment later, the scream was external. With the blink of an eye, Westian suddenly beheld the horror before him. With amazement, Ameena found her od blind spot sudden;y retracted, and she could easily see the foe as if it had always been visible.
The thing had once been human, surely. However, the shrivelled body was now swollen with water, that dripped from its mouth, eyes, ears, and even under its fingernails. The arms looked as if there were straining with the weight of water, bulging with foul 'muscle'. Its legs seemed bowed and shrunken. It was, if one squinted, the semblance of an ape in posture. However the face was human, only betraying the sad wet face when it gave its eager hoots.
Except those hoots were far from eager as Westian brandished the moon of Larethian at the foul thing. It waved elengated arms infront of its face, and turned away in pain. The thing almost tripped over itself to stagger backwards, away from Westian's holy conviction and ire. It had an odd dancing walk, and it felt back to the edge of the lake close to the wasp corpses. It moaned and hooted upwards into the air, as if calling for help. However, nothing answered it.
The thing won't become invisible again, and Westian might suspect that perhaps it was not the creature itself that was causing the invisibility. Infact, Westian might suspect who send these foul things!
Meanwhile, Haynuus was walking slowly forward. Using his caution, he was able to keep roughly to the centre. It wasn't enough to guarantee him being out of reach of the purple tentacles, but luckily the seemed a little unsure of the heat of his torch. Still, it was heavy going and early days. He was only at the start of this long ledge area, and already the screamers seemed to be reacting ot the additional light, uttereing small 'eeks'. Out of the corner of his eye, Haynuus could swear he could see things detact from the wll and ceiling, falling with soft 'squish' sounds onto the floor.
Meanwhile, from the neck of this ledge, where Haynuus had just come, there was another one of those irritating hooting noises. Haynuus looked around, and as if to co-encide with a panicked scream down below, there was a shimmer and then Haynuus realised he could perceive the horrid thing following him. It was wet, and human-like, but also a little reduced in the leg and elongated in the arm, as if in some strange mirror. Or perhaps this was a mirror he was looking at - was this what he looked like? No, wait, he assumed the grak-grak had taken his form before, and he looked better than that
The thing behind him seemed to be eager and skittish, shufflign form foot to foot. It was obviously a very dead human, and now Haynuus's poor nose and sensative tongue had the twin oddness of death and salt in his mouth,. It was liek eating rotting fish. The thing behind him rolled dead wet eyes, bobbing its head as if looking for a weakness in Haynuus's stance.
A little purple tendril tried to sneak towards Haynuus, but for the moment the move of a torch made it shuffle back.
There we go, assumign Hyanuus has a readied attack, and has only moved 30 foot forward, that's how it plays out so far. Would have pitentially been in harms way from screamers and tentacles if it wasn't for the torch - he's far enough awya that it's a good incentive for them to stay back, for now

OOC - Wow, our beasty got really far. Didn't draw an AoO from Westy for its retreat after he zapped it, then?
BIC - Ameena watches as Westian does his...priest...thing...and waves his crescent-moon-shaped symbol about. When his doing so causes the creature to suddenly appear, she watches it carefully as it retreats. She's glad she can finally see it, but in a way she wishes it would just disappear, though not by magically hiding itself as it's been doing so far, but by actually leaving - it stinks.
The creature retreats close to the water, and Ameena has no real desire to follow it - she would prefer, now, to stay as far away from this underground lake as possible.
She glances over (and up) at Westian, standing upright as she does so, though she keeps half an eye on the undead water-creature too.
"What should we do now?" she asks. "Do you think we can climb back up the cliff now? Can you keep that creature away by waving your symbol at it some more?"

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Westian looked down at the murafu as she spoke. "I don't know if I can climb up the cliff Ameena, unless we find an easier route. But you are right, we need to get up and find Haynuus. He shouted out a few seconds ago."
He answered the second part of her question by re-focusing on the creature. He began chanting a prayer to the High Lord and walked forward, brandishing the symbol that once again felt so comfortable in his hand.
Prayer is just flavour text. See OOC thread for Westian's possible actions

It was strange but Haynuus actually felt a wave of well-being before he could see the undead shimmer into view. He instinctively knew that it must have emanated from Westian, that he and Ameena were in danger. The cleric's gods must be listening as Haynuus joined Westian's anger at seeing the abomination.
Without hesitation he charged (+2) with anger (-2, +2*2 dmg) at the horrible sight in front of with both hands on his falchion (1d20+8=17, 2d4+8=14), his torch bouncing uselessly on the floor as he neared.

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Hmm, maybe five feet too far, I forgot to use 2 squares for the other diagonal. And I think I mentioned before, the area you are currently in is a cavern - the back wall doens't go up to the other ledge, the back wall curves into a roof, and then goes upwards to the ledge when it reaches where the cascade is. You had to drop the last little bit of your climb before. Really you need someone with a rope, or to investigate the cavern wall in one of thedirections to find another way out. Ameena could possibly try climbing while hanging form the ceiling, but it's a tough route and not one her companions could emulate.
I'm keeping with DM in the way that being close to the undead again (unless you block it in somewhere) does not break the turn. It has to stay away from you for the duration. Technically the undead of this level shouldn't be quite so scared of you, but the really good roll and something else in the background means its not thinking straight yet, and moved as far away as it could
Westian kept his symbol up, and the thing kept being pushed back as if there were an invisible bubble around Westian. The cleric managed to get as far as the water's edge to see if Aurek was visible, with the strange watery creature giving no sign it wished to engage either of the two companions. Sadly, this was where luckran out, as it seemed want to do. Westian could see no sign of the priest in the dark water, nor any evidence of the paladin strugglign in the water, nor having came closer to shore. The rope was still floating oddly about twenty feet out onto the lake, still i nthe same position Aurek had disappeared. There end of the rope seemed to bob up and down in sadness.
As if to pay its respects, the wasp Westian had previous fought decended from above. It kept out of range of Westian, content to hover and bob near the rope's end. However, it seemed focused only on the cleric.
Wow, what eveil bugger brought that thing back?
Meanwhile, Haynuus's quick action seemed to take the undead creature completely by surprise. The light flickered oddly as Haynuus's torch decended to the floor, while Haynuus made short work of the distance back to the choke point. The creature's watery eyes barely had a moment to roll in the half-orc's direction before a powerful cut sliced the thing's chest open. There was definite resistance to the blow, but there was aalso a definite result. The creature staggered back, and water poured freely from the wound. It moaned like a dull fog horn, and then took a step forward. It swung a fist on the end of a still bloated arm, and smashed Haynuus directly in the face with a ringing blow. (That one will cost you 10 hit points I'm afraid, but still, you got it pretty good!)
Behind Haynuus however, he could hear the squeaks and shrieks of of multiple screamers as they reacted to the hooting. The light flickered again, as a tentacle slithered from the wall and started playing with the torch gingerly. MEanwhile, just behind that, three distinct green caps seemed to shuffle forward.
Gah, more screamers starting to come forward! And you might lose your torch. Still, your undead foe is sudden'y not so tough - you know, when he can't actually hide behind invisibility!
Ok, you might have an easier time of the last few guys, or you would if the environment and the search for Aurek and the need to group together again woulnd't also prove a distraction. By the end of next week you shoudl be clear of many of your stumbling blocks (or dead),. and I promise the end of next week you'll have some light at the end of this encounter tunnel
Even if it is a dragon breathing flames.
Have a good weekend! I might update again if Ameena and Ian can do a new post .

OOC - I had figured that since Ameena climbed down the cliff with little trouble in the first place, that she'd be able to get back up again just as easily...
BIC - Ameena keeps a few steps away from Westian, with the half-elf between herself and the undead creature, the latter of which seems unwilling to get too close to Westian's holy symbol. At least for now.
She turns her attention along the ledge, looking further into the cavern.
"Maybe there's a way up if we go further along..." she suggests. "If Haynuus is on his own now..."
She glances upward, in the direction of the upper ledge, then out across the water to the point where the mysterious soldier, Aurek, fell in. She edges slightly closer to the edge, but feels unwilling to get too near, having seen what kinds of creatures can emerge from the eerie depths.
"Maybe we can pull the rope back." she says, cautiously. "But I don't want to get too close to the water, if that's really what it is. And that creature...I think we've stayed here too long. Predators tend to find you more easily if you do that..."
OOC - Ameena will have stopped a couple of squares away from the edge, and will be standing more or less to the south of Westy, so that, as mentioned above, he's between her and the undead thingy.

Ah true, you could have just leap up. I'll need to go back to it and check, but there's something like a 15 foot drop which means Ameena need to do a 15 foot high jump. Because of the way you play the character (and to get enough movement for a running jump), I am assuming the running start will be on all four legs so it will need to be a 15 foot jump unmodified by height. I know in 4th edition that would would be a DC30 check, but in 3.5 it's much harder than that (basically impossible for you right now). And lol, predators findign you too easily if you stay? INdeed - especially if you create noise and smells!

OOc - Yeah, since murafu are (physically) basically oversized rats whose forepaws are shaped slightly differently, they can't really run when upright, just manage a sort of awkward fast-ish walk. If you ever wonder what a murafu looks like when doing something (something basic like grooming, leaping, running, eating, etc, not the stuff that requires them to use their sentience, like lockpicking, wielding a knife, etc), just mooch through YouTube or something for any footage of rats doing the same - that will be what murafu look like when doing it too
. So anyway, yeah, a running jump would be on all-fours, but they can still jump from an upright position - check out any rat trying to get on top of a vertical barrier to see what I mean
.

If there was one thing that Haynuus had in abundance it was hitpoints and a furious anger. No wait, if there were TWO things the half-orc had in abundance it was hitpoints, furious anger and a good chopping action with his falchion. (1d20+8=16, 2d4+4=10, 1d20+3=5, 2d4+4=9) Ohhhh wait, I'll start again.
Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Ameena's warning was well founded in experience. The reaction of the cavern's occupants immediately to the group's presence seemed to back up that statement. Surely a few wasps and a few leeches were not the full opccupants of such a huge cavernous area. And although the wasp dripping ichor into the lake wasn't drawing any attention for the moment, that did not mean things were not waiting to see what interested it, or awaiting a weak moment to take it down.
For the moment, the undead creature was still staying away from Westian, although not backing away any further than the other side of the corpses. A thrown club disuaded the creature to back away a few steps more, even though it did the club did not connect. However, the creature seemed to be slowly coming to its senses as Westian's attention become split between wasp, Aurek worry, and the undead. The creatuyre seemed to be building up the courage to attack again.
I'm using your thrown club roll after all, as a placeholder for Westian at the edge of the lake. Yell if this needs ret-conned back out.
Up above, Haynuus was focusing on one problem at a time. Ignoring the screamers and tendril, he concentrated on swinging his blade. The backswing was inelegant and missed, but that was because the first swing knocked the thing down. Water flowed from its broken body, and in a few moments a shrivelled and far more human looking thing was lying on the ground. The body was still a little blue and soft looking, but was recogniseably human. Irritatingly, the ledge backwards was now slick with water, making a quick retreat a little bit more dangerous.
Still, wasn't the only way onwards? In that regard, Haynuus was back where he had started, and down a torch. The tendril now wrapped aroudn his old discarded torch, and had exteinguished it. Just beyond the tendril, three screamers moved forwards. Suddenly, rushing down the middle seemed a less safe prospect.
Basically, theres a tendril extending 10 feet from the wall about thrirty feet forward. And there's three screamers occupying the ten foot area just beyond that. Haynuus could decide to charge this mass of critteres head on, or could try to simply put up with the AoO running by them would generate, or could of course swing wider and get closer to the edge of the ledge. To start with, the ledge is still wide enough to probably be safe. Probably
As Haynuus had to put up with purple tendrils, by the water Westian was about to see a tendril of his own. A thin line of water started moving towards his leg...
OB, roll me some perception checks! Luckily, the tendril is not being too stealthy - DC 10 effectively! Ameena, the undead creature is actually west of Westian now, if Westian is at the edge. If Ameena will move to be east of Westian (hehe), then she can spot the tendril and say an appropriate warning. If she would stay south out of the way, Westian will be blocking LOS with his body. Feel free to have Ameena roll perception, but I'll impose a penalty for Westian being a block. Cna't be bothered to look it up and decide right now!

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Haynuus experienced the briefest of arse-scratching moments as he thought about as what to do next. Logically he should wait for the screamers to move over and take those out next but these screamers would just keep coming and coming. This place was full of them. The tentacles though were definitely the real menace here in the cavern.
He quickly rummaged in the depths of his backpack and pulled out two potion bottles. The first, a blue one from Soorec that he shoved the neck of the bottle, plus a little extra, down into his mouth and quaffed it all until it was empty. There, much better! The empty flask went back inside again.
The next was the last murky brown one. He popped the neck of the bottle in his mouth, as he'll be needing his hands free for all of the chopping he was going to have to do. With his tongue on one side and a large bulbous piece of glass out the other, he put his head down and charged. He wasn't looking to do any harm to the screamers, just rush past them through the centre of the cavern as fast as possible (as many AoOs as you like) and get some distance between him and them - they weren't the fastest of minions in this place. It was the purple tendrils that he reserved his energies for. If one of them got creepy and started to 'drop by' his falchion would be informing them of his presence!

OOC - Oh, okay, I thought that the undead widget was still by the water's edge. So yeah, Ameena wouldn't want to get too close to either (undead or water), so she's most likely gonna be lurking a few steps to the south of Westian. Perception check = (hahaha wooot) 30 (20+10). So Ameena now sees/hears/smells everything in the entire universe!
I shall hold back on making an IC post till I know the results of that check.

Lol, well, I don't think you need to roll the 9d6 healing, just assume you are on full hit points. As I said before, you get to heal up six ability points. I think you've actually lost like 10, so funnily enough you will still be a little bit under! Anyway, choose which ones you want to recover, and amend your stats accordingly. Also, Haynuus will feel much better after, as if he doesn't have pressing screamer spores in his chest!
Haynuus rushes forwards, falchion in hand. The tentacle is apparently too engrossed in the discarded torch to flick at the passing half orc. Some spores are sprayed into the general area that Haynuus had occupied, but luckily not infront of him.
Lol, two natural 1s, including that from the tentacle, means Haynuus got passed that initial bit. Is Haynuus going to keep charging forward (bullrushing as necessary)? If so, let me know what your ability scores are going ot be, and roll me some grapple resists for the tentacles, and I can perhaps fast trap Haynuus's heroic charge

Lol, double post. Ok,the tendril rolled low enough 'stealth' that even with a 'get out of the way, Westian' penalty, Ameena will spot the watery tendril slowly moving towards Westian's leg. Nothing else really new otherwise!

In her nervous glances around, Ameena's gaze flicks over the water nearby and she suddenly spots something in the water, moving toward her friend.
"Westian!" she calls in alarm. "Quick! Move away from the water! Something's coming toward you! We really should leave here."
So saying, she goes over to Westian and puts herself between him and the approaching thing, whatever it is. She leans her slight weight against his leg, pushing against him in an attempt to persuade him to move away faster.

Perception was 9 + 4 = 13. Although I probably don't need it now that Ameena pointed it out.
Westian jumped with surprise at the sight of the water forming a tendril. Or, rather, he would have jumped if he was not weighed down with platemail, as it was it was more of an almost imperceptible hop.
Westian reaches down to grab onto Ameena, and quickly back up, trying to bring her with him.
"Aurek is gone. Larethian, he has been a faithful servant, take care of him." A great feeling of sadness washed over Westian, even though his body was preoccupied escaping from the waters edge.
Assuming that Ameena is standing on two legs he will be able to reach her, otherwise she will be two low.

OOC - Recovered all 3 points of STR and 3 of DEX which is now at 8 (-1). He still has damage to CON (9/12)
The view from behind looked good, and the more distance he put between himself and the screamers the better. There was another clump of purple tendrils, however, and so he put his head down once more, falchion waving in the air above his head, and charged. His sheer weight and thick skull was his advantage for once.

Ameena started pushing the cleric, who realised what was happening. Luckily for Ameena, for the watery tedril seems surprised yet eager when it discovered a foot there. There was a moments hesitation as it managed to touch the murafu's leg, before Westian yanked Ameena out of harm's way.
However, with a moan and slow movements, the undead indicated that it was apparently recovering from Westian's prescence now Westian had been distracted.
The tendril rolled decent to try and grab Ameena, but then rolled a natural 1 on the actual grapple attempt. Rather than have you guys roll it out anyway, I'm going to say Westian's actions remove even the possibility that the murafu will have failed the grapple check. So yeah, just decide on your next course of action (go left or go right) and of course, deal wit hthe starting to stumble forward undead. And forget about the wasp...the wasp is...not an issue *whistles and shakes head at own lies*
Haynuus was perhaps amazed at his progress, or perhaps was simply blissfully ignorant. Unfortunately, once it started to sink in how well he was doing, and actually think about takign on the next clump of targets, disaster struck.
Maybe feelign stronger and better was a bad thing? Maybe his legs feeling like they were his own again distracted him? Whatever it was, the first tentacle that came at him just grabbed him good and heard. Still, if there was one thing Haynuus had, it was inertia. He was not light, and neither was he lacking in determination.
Still, the tentacle had ruined his stride somewhat, and there were more screamers screeching to react. Wafts of spores blew left and right around his head, and irritatingly as he was caught by the tentacle one managed to spray directly into his face. He felt the familiar presence of spores, and tried to block every pore of his body by willpower alone.
Ok, actually only one tentacle managed to make a grab for you this round successfully. Now, if you can beat a 10 in an opposed roll, which I've just realised you probably can because this is a full melee check, then you will keep going through! And infact will have the second choke point in sight, ready to power on towards the crack! Woohoo! Of course, if you fail the opposed roll, then you might be in a world of hurt. Its next grapple check you'd need to oppose is 28! And you'd already take 1d6+4 damage. Oh, and for the successful screamer hit, sadly because you are cured of the sproes, it will try to hit you with spores again. Make me a fortitude save, please!
Haynuus was just struggling with the tentril, when a shrill shriek rent the air from above Haynuus. Before he could look up, suddenly the shriek was right by his face, and then suddenly, there was somethign wet at his feet just after a dull 'splat' was heard. There was not much really to say about a suicidal screamer, especially when you lacked a vocabulary!
Heh, three normal screamer attacks, and I also had one screamer drop from above. And it roll a 1. So, in honour of that, I decided that meant it missed and splatted
Serves it right!
Ok people, alas, poor Aurek, you knew him Westian. A man of infinite head loppage. Yeah, Aurek has now been declared 'dead' by the cleric, even though Haynuus is making a spirited attempt to go to the general rescue. Haynuus may well manage to power throug hto the crack at his level. Its up to the Team Leech Killer to decide if they wopuld naturally investigate that direction, or go backwards towards where the grak-graks and Trolins disappeared, all that wacky time ago!
Will grab some food, promise to update the maps later!

Maps:

For Ian - the mention of screamers and tentacles isn't an exhaustive list, merely indicates the ones you've actually had to encounte,r or likely to encounter. There are some smaller tentacles flapping aroudn that might be an isue if you get closer, and more screamers attached above and to the side - only some of the larger have deteched, again smaller ones could be an issue if you get dragged into the wall!
For Ameena and Westian - don't feel guilty about not caring about / abandoning poor Aurek

OOC - Just so you know, OB, Ameena is currently upright - she stood up in order to talk to him better when asking what they should do next right after he Turned the undead thingy (near the top of this page, just under the first map post).
As for Aurek...well, Ameena already spared a thought or two for him, but right now she's unfortunately a bit distracted with so many nearby things she would class as "Predator" and the fact that Westian is still very much alive and yet in danger from said predatory creatures.
BIC - Ameena offers no resistance as Westian suddenly jerks her out of the way of the approaching...whatever it is. She moves with the half-elf and looks around swiftly, taking in all nearby things she considers to be immediately relevant.
"That undead creature looks like it might attack us soon, oh, and the insect-creature too...and what is that in the water? Is it even water?" She begins to speak faster and faster, unconsciously slipping into a more natural murafu mode of speech in her desire to communicate everything she wants to. "And whatabout the rope? Maybe wecantake that too? Ormaybe thatwouldbe a badidea. Iwonderwhichway Haynuus went? We'dbetter find him. Butifhe'supthere, howcanwefindhim? Ithinkweshouldjustmove. Getawayfromhereasquicklyaswecanbecauseallthesethingslookliketheymightwanttoeatusorjustkillus, or something..."
She is fidgeting nervously now, casting her eyes about between the hovering insect, the moaning undead, and the thing she considers probably the greatest threat - the watery substance.

Cool, with that sort of roll, Haynuus easily gets clear and ends up closer to the last tentacle. Decision time! Going further from the tentacle puts Haynuus close to the edge at this choke point. I think there's no water, instead its the cavern floor below. However, Haynuus can overbalance, or even be flicked over by a tentacle that doesn't quite grasp him.
If Haynuus gets close to the cavern wall, as mentioned there will be some minor screamer and tentacle stuff, aswell as the usual normal sized screamers, and the last giant tentacle waiting to make a grab...

Re: DM themed play-by-post D&D game : STORY THREAD
Haynuus was horrified that mother nature could produce kamikaze shrubbery. He'd seen a pack of wild boars suicidally charge into the flanks of human knights but then the goblins did set them on fire first. He almost stumbled at the implications of this new knowledge, especially as simultaneously the purple tendrils had made their intentions well clear as to what they wanted to do... Or eat.
He was stuck in the middle and couldn't see any easy way out. He pushed on through the centre of the elongated cavern to the next morass of purple tentacles that harass. Falchion in the air, almost ignoring the screamers as he moved at lightning speed, he readied for some chopping action.

Westian tried to listen to Ameena speak, but with the rapid speed and the fact that his face was covered by a helmet he struggled to understand it all. Still, he got the general gist, and lifted up his visor to try to improve communication.
"We can leave the rope, I have some more. We just need to get out of here, and back up to Haynuus. Can you see anyway to get up? If not then maybe we go the way the grak-graks went?" He gestured behind him as he spoke. It was not the best of plans, they needed to find Haynuus and figure out where they were, but Westian could think of nothing better.
He sensed the undead creature growing in confidence. Turning to face him he shouted "Lord Larethian has cast you out already, go back wherever you came from! Do not think that you can defy the High Lords!" Once more he brandished the crescent moon symbol as he spoke.
OOC: Turn undead was 9 + 15 = 24.
