Pits - Delays/Triggers

Post by Twiggy »

I'm having a little trouble with creating triggers for a "run and jump" style pit. The type where you push a button/stand on plate and the pit closes for a few moments and then opens again.

Been looking at some of the Chaos/DM mechanics and I can't really wrap my head around it and I can't get on the wiki because work is blocking it ><

Much obliged :)

The easiest way is not to use a constant weight effect,. You simply target two triggers on the same floor tiles to two different relays. One with a short delay that closes the pit, and one with a longer delay that closes the pit again. That's the simplest form, obviously if you want somethign more complex there's more complex thigns to do :)

Lol there's always a more complex way to do things. Usually winds up being the way you try to do it at first too.

Thanks for that though. I'll have a play with it on my break

For some reason the editor works fine at my work, but the actual game doesn't. So a lot of the things I was editing I couldn't try till I got home.

... I think my timing on the pit was a little too quick. Ah well all's well now
