Hey, that's really cool :). It's nice that a company like that is willing to listen to their fans and not only acknowledge them, but take on board these kinds of suggestions and use them to make the game something people want to play even more than they already do :D. Somehow I can't see someone writing to Almost Human and receiving one of those generic "Thank you for your query, insert-name-here, we will look into this when we have the time. We appreciate your feedback and are working to do what we can to improve things." messages which is so blatantly automated and doesn't feel remotely as if an actual human has read it and taken any of your words into consideration.
I hope that if you Almost Human guys do really well out of Grimrock, you'll keep up the standard and not become all up yourselves and like those big companies who don't give a smeg about anything but the money. I think we're pretty safe from that, however ;).

As someone who has been living under a rock for a long time, all I can say is WOW! I'm really looking forward to this, the gameplay videos look excellent!

Oh, on their blog is a link to a hardware test to check and make sure your machine and their code can live in perfect harmony!

Yeah, saw that earlier -- it's only available on a torrent at present, which I don't use and have no intention of installing, so I'll bypass the test. Anyone else tried it? Do you get to see anything of the game?

Oh, and welcome back Trantor. You're banned! ;-)

You just get a corridor with torch, screamer, and gate behind. Although you can use the mouse and right clicking to look 180 degrees around.

It sounded as if the link was available as a direcdt link before. Why not torrent? Seems a good way to support them in doing a nice pre-release thing to check the hardware, without them having to sink money in to the bandwidth needed for allowing the download of that file (it's around 400Mb).

Too much junk on this machine already, and If I install torrent software, it'll just encourage me to D/L stuff I don't need. Trying very hard to abstain from such activities!

I just posted to the blog about the music, I hope the composer will not curse me, because it surely was a lot of work (and has to fit to the demo movie), but you wrote, you want to make the music legendary :P

Your sound editors may also like this link: http://basicsynth.com/
With the composer you can configure every soundsource you may need.

I was too impatient to see a bit of Grimrock, so I installed a torrent donwloader in the end... Even though it's only a tech test of a tiny room, it looks damned good and I can't wait to play :-)

I should check if my evil notebook can fulfill the hardware requirements. Rasmus can tell some stories about this hard nut ;)
And yes - I still press thumbs that they make it.

Yaaaay, maybe this'll be out just as I finish up with Skyrim or something, so I can go straight into it :D.

If I remember rightly, the intention was to release the editor in a later patch. So that's cool :D.

My understanding is that while they would love to add editor/modding support, it can only happen if sales are good....

If they release an editor you'll have to put this post in a new sub-group in the forum of course ;)

What does it mean, "gone gold"? You mean they finished all the testing and now they have the actual, proper, finalised version that's gonna be released?

Yes. The phrase comes from "Gold Master", which originally was the colour of the master CD-ROM sent off for publishing (back in the day when there was no digitial distribution).

PARTY TIME!! It took a bit longer than anticipated to get here, 10 months instead of planned 6 months, but that also means we had time to add more features and additional polish. Without you keeping the spirit of DM alive the chances of making this game would have been smaller. I sincerely hope you guys like the game and we can meet the high expectations.

Well, personally I prefer that you took longer over development in order to get everything as good as possible, rather than rushing the end and releasing something that's not-quite finished - I think most of us have probably played games where that was the case and been disappointed because of the blatant rushed-ness of the ending, or loads of really obvious bugs, or whatever. I'm looking forward to the release of Grimrock (and I know I'm not the only one), and I'm sure I'll enjoy playing it :D.

I know, I felt a bit guilty buying it so cheap, £7.50 for me in the UK, I would have happily paid 4 times that! Hopefully they'll put up something else that I can buy in the future to. :)

I'm looking through the manual as we speak. :P
