That's beautiful, and very cleverly done. I love the details -- see the rainbow!? Palette-remapping was a big part of old games, including Dungeon Master (simulating darkness) . It was also used to create the little scrolling bar at the bottom of the Windows 95 load screen.

Finally playing and immensely enjoying the awesome Thimbleweed Park-a-reno!
Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
On the topic of Lego (which may help out Tom Hatfield's lego Dungeon if hes still around/working on it) is Lego Digital Designer a free download that lets you create almost any lego creation, you can also rotate your creation and view from different sides.
I'm guessing you can save the images and use them as well, I have had too much time to work on it.

It's not a bug in the program, I've just gone and done something weird.

Ha ha, very good! I loved Limbo, I thought it was really well designed and had great atmosphere. Would have been quite a different game though if so brightly coloured!

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Oooh, interesting! I missed that, looks like fun. A sprite based "Lego Master" might be fun in the absence of Tom's full 3D version...Trego wrote:On the topic of Lego (which may help out Tom Hatfield's lego Dungeon if hes still around/working on it) is Lego Digital Designer a free download that lets you create almost any lego creation, you can also rotate your creation and view from different sides.

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
I tired the lego designer, but there doesn't seem to be any way of exporting images -- no lego dungeon from me, then!

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Star Wars arcade machine, for just £2K
http://www.retrofusion.org.uk/news/561/ ... ale-2000-/
I played a lot of this when I was a kid, down in the arcades on Brighton seafront. Man, arcades were something special back then, it's where my original interest in gaming came from as I didn't have a home computer for many years after they became fashionable. All my friends had Spectrums or C64s, but our family could never afford one. The first computer I owned was a hand-me-down Amiga 1000.
So arcades held a big fsacination for me and seeing this old Star Wars machine really brings back some memories

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
Ahh yeah, I already noticed some of those when I watched those films as a kid - Baloo and King Louis/Little John and Lady Cluck dancing, as well as the hands clapping in Snow White/Robin Hood. Maybe they ran out of animation thingys or something when they were making Robin Hood, as that seems to be the one with the most doubles...

Re: Cool stuff you've found on the web
"ran out of animation thingys" - lol, that's classic, what does that even mean?
It's simple economics. If you've already worked out the body positions once, and can make use of them again, why wouldn't you?

We live in a copy-paste civilisation, that's quite normal - although still funny if you put these things together.
