Re: Legend of Grimrock
Indeed, Linux is still very niche and the cost of porting vs. return may not be worth the effort.

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Soneone started EOB! Well, just a wall recolour so far, not very professional looking, but it does fire the imagination!

Re: Legend of Grimrock
It's nice, I've been testing out the beta for a bit now. Kind of a mix of RTC and DSB.
Love the preview window. I spent so much time going back and forth between creating and testing working with RTC.

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Is anyone going to start a dungeon? I noticed a couple of people in Steam Workshop trying to remake DM and EOB. I can't wait for some new content.

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Hmm, thought I'd download it so I can get to editing at some point (busy with Torchlight II atm...still haven't actually finished playing Grimrock yet, lol), but partway through patching it said "Grimrock.dat patching failed. See if the patch version is correct.". Is there some other patch I should have got first or something? I've never patched Grimrock since I got it - does every patch have to be installed separately then, and you can't just download a later one and it contain everything you need? Or is there something wrong with my game?

Re: Legend of Grimrock
I suspect you need the latest version before you can patch to the editor. I think that was 1.1.4 . Check on their forums for details.
Re: Legend of Grimrock
There was indeed an engine update before.
And I see LoG is features at the steam store just now for the dungeon editor
Cool!

Re: Legend of Grimrock
It would be a bit different as some DM mechanics don't work in Grimrock, but yeah could be fun! I'd love to see true 3D versions of all the old creatures...

I think they can work with enough scripting.Gambit37 wrote:It would be a bit different as some DM mechanics don't work in Grimrock, but yeah could be fun! I'd love to see true 3D versions of all the old creatures...
I have posted my first Grimrock dungeon on steam workshop if anyone is interested.

We have been waiting for this moment for too long, now we're just looking how the opportunity to make a big teamed dungeon passes away

Yep, who knew this old school game would be so popular with new generation.beowuuf wrote:Wow, 203 dungeons in the steam workshop alone O.O

It seems a lot of those dungeons are largely unfinished though.

Re: Legend of Grimrock
I just now noticed this -- don't usually look in this forum, but I'm glad I did. I took a look at the trailer and a few screenies on their web site and all I can say is
WOW!
I'm impressed and I'll definitely be buying a copy of this game as soon as I can.

He he he, cool, you're in for a treat! It's a fantastic modern homage to Dungeon Master, and now with its own editor too. I'm looking forward to messing in the Grimrock editor, but promised myself I'd finish my DSB custom game first............

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Of that I have no doubt. I'm also looking forward to messing around with the Grimrock editor, but like you, I have custom dungeon(s) of my own that I want to finish first, except mine are in RTC.
I know this next bit is a little off topic but I'd also like to check out your custom DSB game when it's done.

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Expect nothing for quite some time! It's a mammoth effort and I have a habit of starting over ambitious projects that I rarely complete... that's all I shall say on the matter, as 'status' announcements seem to get me in to trouble.Seriously Unserious wrote:I'd also like to check out your custom DSB game when it's done.

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Does anybody from you have problem about: error missing file d3dx9_43.dll (under win7) ?
Re: Legend of Grimrock
I've played Grimrock through steam and stand alone under win 7 without that error, so it's not an inherent problem. If you are playing it stand alone, there is a patch file to update to update for the editor, but you must have the correct old version of the engine. Has anything like this occurred?

Re: Legend of Grimrock
Have you tried doing a search for the missing file?Zed5Duke wrote:Does anybody from you have problem about: error missing file d3dx9_43.dll (under win7) ?
I've had similar errors with other games where I'm missing a file and was able to fix it by searching for the file online and found someone had it available for download so was able to get the missing file and that solved my problem. This should work in your case as well for Grimrick.
