PaulH had it in one of his dungeons!
And just rewatched the LOTR trilogy after the Hobbit. The Hobbit feels exactly likethe extended version of the LOTR films... so the same lack of tightness, but added detail.
And so yes, the Balrog scene was fresh in my mind too!

Re: The Silly and Tiny Christmas Story Discussion 2006 / 201
so, when do you usually end this story, on new year's eve?
Re: The Silly and Tiny Christmas Story Discussion 2006 / 201
Lol, when we feel like it, but I think a day or so after new year is usual. Certainly before next Christmas is customary!
Re: The Silly and Tiny Christmas Story Discussion 2006 / 201
Actually, how about we swap to sentences from tomorrow until the weekend to allow everyone the chance to wrap up the story. Try to tie up stuff from the story, and either myself or Gambit (or anyone else if they really want) can then write a final paragraph to wrap it all up at some point over the coming weekend.
Sound good?

But if we switch to sentences then I will not be able to keep up with my gigantic contribution to the story.
Re: The Silly and Tiny Christmas Story Discussion 2006 / 201
That's one vote for no, and I'm leaning on just summarising it at the end.

just make sure you have the word "gigantic" somewhere in your sentence.Sophia wrote:But if we switch to sentences then I will not be able to keep up with my gigantic contribution to the story.

Re: The Silly and Tiny Christmas Story Discussion 2006 / 201
I do not want the responsibility of finishing this current sentence...
Re: The Silly and Tiny Christmas Story Discussion 2006 / 201
I blame Ameena for turning it pervy with her procreative fondling
Re: The Silly and Tiny Christmas Story Discussion 2006 / 201
I now blame you Gambit, since Ameena name-checked me

Well, I didn't recall seeing any forum member names mentioned (though didn't we do that one year, including as many as we could in the one-word-at-a-time story?). And you did just blame me for being pervy .

And now I'm back to blaming Ameena for any innappropriateness that results in this sentence! And yes, we did try one year to mention both forum members as well as all the characters.

Presently, the Story thread exploded in a massive feedback loop of presenters presenting presents to the same presenters who present presents to the presenters of presents to the...

I've provisionally written an ending, so there is sense to be made from the madness!

I feel that we're reaching a climax...

I had said the weekend seemed like a good time to end it. Let SU, etc get a chance though

Absolutely, I'm not advocating a swift end. Everyone should keep their contributions coming. It just feels naturally like the end is near. That might be my fault though
