Re: DMJava v2.10 by Solito
Pleasure!
I'm still working on improving some features but unfortunately always find a few bugs hidden here and there...
Anyway, I added some very nice new features (and fixed a few bugs too:)
A new patch is available 2.12-1 (same version).
Cheers.

Re: DMJava v2.10 by Solito
Haha yes, I was trying to load and patch older map versions and then realized that some bugs were well hidden.
Also after making some diablo1 items (like 'reduce light radius' or 'increase attack speed'), the current version couldn't handle negative values for illumulet or light duration, etc...
It's now possible to have items that do the opposite of Illumulet or Gem of Ages.
So here is a new patch with a demo map: 2.12-5
Thanks.

Re: DMJava v2.10 by Solito
Thank you Chaos Shaman.
Although I'm surprised nobody noticed that multifloor switches using 'Item only' don't work anymore in the latest version.
That causes some of the important mechanisms in Dungeon Master AND Chaos Strikes Back (as well as the extended version) not to work.
Bug fix available for download.

Do you have then available, or packed in the download? THey aren't available separately anymore!
Sadly I download the new packs (Except for the last one, funnily), but don't have the time right now to play around with it that much

Re: DMJava v2.10 by Solito
The maps themselves are fine, but the bug of the v2.12 prevented some triggers to work properly.
The latest maps (as well as demo maps) are in the new pack, so all the maps are fine, you just need to download the latest bug fix which is just 1 java class only (about 30kb)

Re: DMJava v2.10 by Solito
Hi Solito,
first of all i have to really thank you for your effort on the dmj project to come up with a real dm clone.
i looked so long for this (i used to run an atari emulator + dm and csb roms), but i have some problems running it.
i've downloaded the zip from here http://solito.free.fr/games/dmjava/v2.10/#download
the v2.12, exctracted and runned but it just stops at the first blue screen with a black rectangle on the left.
The editor runs well, tho.
I saw i should download the patch2.12-6.rar but there is no link, could be this the root of the problem?
Thank you in advance for you amazing work and your time for reply to me.

The link to the latest patch is now clickable.
Unfortunatly this patch will probably not solve the blue screen problem (I have not experienced such problem so far)
Maybe an incompatible java version?
Re: DMJava v2.10 by Solito
Hello,
I have the same problem as Gaaroth, the empty blue screen and the black area on the left.
I'm running this java version: "1.7.0_25" on Linux. I run it with this command: "java -Xmx500m -Xms500m
-cp . dmnew"
I tried with and without the patch, and it's the same.
The 2.6 version is running fine (using the same command as above), except for the editor (the original one, by Alan, is still working). Just the dungeon is not available, because in the Dungeon folder, it is named "DungeonMaster.dat", and the program expect it to be named "dungeonmaster.dat" (with lower case), on some case sensitive system (such as Linux, and maybe Mac os x too) it can make a difference. It's easy to fix by renaming it.
Also the heroes portraits are not available at first, for the same reason (it's for ex. IAIDO.GIF but I can't find which file to change it just seems it doesn't work when I rename it).
Thank you for your work on this amazing program! Now it really looks better than ever.

Re: DMJava v2.10 by Solito
if you need more tests, I can do them.
For the editor, I get those errors :
/tmp/jre1.7.0_25/bin/java -cp
. DMEditor
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
at HeroPanel.repaint(HeroPanel.java:225)
at sun.awt.X11.XCanvasPeer.setBackground(Unknown Source)

at java.awt.Dialog.setBackground(Unknown Source)
at HeroPanel.<init>(HeroPanel.java:45)
at DMEditor.<init>(DMEditor.java:1050)
at DMEditor.main(DMEditor.java:395)
I also found the 7.21 release of java there: http://uni-smr.ac.ru/archive/dev/java/JRE/oracle/7/
And it's the same errors for the editor, and same blue (background) screen, with the black area on the left.
Also I don't have javaw on linux, only java in the available executables. And I can't pass this ".;*" parameter, only the single dot: .
[edit] I've downloaded the java 7.21 version for windows, and tried it in a virtual machine, and I got the same error with the blue screen, using the full command in the batch you provided.
