This beast fights hard! And if I can slay it completely, it's flesh will be given to the very trusted ones only.

Re: INN OF LOST SOULS: general chit-chat thread
Hey all, miss me?
It's been a few weeks since I last posted here and it looks like lots has happened in that time. The reason I haven't been posting is I injured my left wrist (tendonitis) a few weeks ago and had a hard time typing anything for the past few weeks. I had my wrist in a splint for about 3 weeks or so and am just now starting to try having it off most of the time today. Its been recovering fast though and I'm hoping to be able to post more regularly again within about a week or so, and to resume work on my custom dungeon also within the same time frame.
I've missed this community and am happy to be back.

Your dodgy wrist has not limited your libido!Seriously Unserious wrote:starting to try having it off most of the time today

But yes, welcome back, I had wondered where you'd gone. I hope your wrist heals soon.

Re: INN OF LOST SOULS: general chit-chat thread
Thanks for the get well wishes. I'll be starting Physiotherapy on Friday so there is definitely excellent progress in healing, and with the Physio it should get even better faster. It's reassuring to note that my absence was noted in a noteworthy sort of way...
Of course, what happened to my wrist may be a Serious thing, but I wouldn't be me without my Unserious side noticeably noteworthy sort of way too...

You know, I haven't asked if all our American friends are OK, with the tragedies in Boston and Texas this week. That's very thoughtless of me.
I don't know if any of our forum members live in the areas affected, so I hope everyone is OK. Sending good thoughts your way.

I did meant to reply to this and agree with this too. I hope everyone came through the week ok over there
Re: INN OF LOST SOULS: general chit-chat thread
yeah what a week
so bad that I ended up placing the mouse to the LEFT of the keyboard instead of the RIGHT
at first this caused me a great deal of "slow down" but as time went on, my right hand "injury" lessened and I became more adept at using the mouse with my left hand
2 months later, no more problem and I am now a left handed mouse user but I'm right handed!!

Re: INN OF LOST SOULS: general chit-chat thread
It must have been pretty nasty to force you to use your off hand like that. Luckily mine's not nearly that bad and happened to my off hand as it is. It's recovering fast and I'm pretty much back to typing normally now, although my left wrist and thumb are still very stiff and prone to sudden shocks of pain if I'm not careful. I should even be back to working on my custom dungeon by the end of the week too. I must say I'm looking forward to it too, as much as I missed this community while I was on the shelf, I've also missed DM and creating new worlds and adventures just as much.

I needed a quiet seat in London earlier to sign my house-purchase contract. I managed to find one in a Pret. Then got kicked out 'cos it caught fire. Just my luck.

Re: INN OF LOST SOULS: general chit-chat thread
I'm moving house today on to the next part of my life: settling down with my lady
We're renovating a house together which is going to take the rest of the year, so my creative time around DM and other pursuits will be taking back-seat for a while. I'll still be perusing the forum (and being an annoying moderator when things go off topic
), but I won't be actively doing anything DM related off the forum until 2014 at this rate.....
I'll be offline for a few days, so I'll catch up with you all again after I've moved house.
Bye for now!

Good luck with the house move... Remember, it's putting stuff in the boxes that takes most of the time (and throwing out that dusty old air guitar (and 30 minutes of discussing with your partner just how good it would have looked on the bedroom wall)).

Yeah, I was really slumming it with those temperatures one - two degrees colder
Hey, it finally rained overnight in Basingstoke. A little bit more of this and all the grass won't be yellow and dead!

Re: INN OF LOST SOULS: general chit-chat thread
I feel very foolish...
I was just checking my bank statement online and I almost had a heart attack: lodgements appeared to be reducing my balance, and payments were increasing it. I started to panic that I had a big overdraft without knowing it. Even the fact that there was no mention of overdraft could not explain the weird behaviour - if I had spent, say, 25.13 on my debit card the balance increased by exactly that much.
I called the bank helpline. About halfway through explaining the problem in detail to the a confused lady I realised the problem. The most recent entries were at the top of the page, rather than the bottom. Paper statement are the other way around. So I was reading my balances going backwards through time.
Very embarrassing. As a form of contrition I subsequently let her talk me through their options for home insurance, and agreed to have a call back tomorrow to discuss savings plans.

I would have gone with 'ah, sorry, the space madness appear to have passed' and hung up

Well she could not have thought I was any weirder, so it might not have hurt! And it would have avoided having to talk to her tomorrow again.

Hi peoples and other sentient beings, I discovered this site recently and really enjoy some of the custom dungeons. Such creativity!
