Surrender your possessions
Does anyone know the mechanism of the Surrender your possensions trap?
How many items do you have to drop to get free, and what happens if you have less items? Are you then trapped?

I could have misremembered this, but I think it’s taking off (or not wearing) leather boots that opens it.

LOL, I have fallen a couple of times in this trap and ditched most of my stuff.
Just the boots.....good trick.

Maybe they were thinking that since you start with nothing, and the boots are in the first room, you’re likely to have them and that maybe they’ll be one of the last thing you’ll drop.

Also, chances are people will empty their inventories before starting on their actual equipped gear, and boots are at the bottom so may likely be the last thing to be removed...

And what happens if you don't have the boots? Will the wall then open without you dropping any items?

Hmm, I don't know. I would imagine you'd be a bit buggered in that case, since presumably the wall only opens when the floor trigger is activated, which can only be done by placing some leather boots on it - no boots, no trigger, so no escape. Welcome to CSB .

Wrong. It is triggered by 'Party Possession".wall only opens when the floor trigger is activated
Like the Boulder sensor at 00(30,19).

Re: Surrender your possessions
While researching this question I discovered two things about
Chaos Strikes Back that I had never before known.
Wearing the Power Towers at 00(31,18) prevents the generation
of the Demon at 00(36,18).
There is an Onyx lock at 00(35,22) that opens the door at 00(35,24).
I never needed to use these because I always slip through the door
at 00(30,20) and dash past the worms to the door at 00(42,24).
Nevertheless, this level 00 is Chaos Strikes Back at its best. There
are two or three or more solutions to every problem. A work of art.

Re: Surrender your possessions
Ahh, so the "Surrender Your Possessions" trap is only closed if you even have leather boots on you in the first place? Sneaky...
