Can i collect 4 corbums before going to Ful Ya?

Hi, I'm nearing the end of my first path (ku) and level 00 sounds like a pain. Just wondering if i can go back and do all the paths for all 4 corbums before going up to destroy them?


Is there any negative consequences to this? Does destroying each immediately grant any benefits?


Also, i heard Ros can be skipped due to an illusionary pit in front of its corbum. For non speed runners, is this worth doing? Are there any good items on the Ros path? (Apart from the randomised ones)

I remember I had all 4 corbums before going at the ya pit to dump them.
I got all 4, but had not been able to enter Ku.
I killed all knights at the ku entrance and was not aware I could enter ku while fighting them.
I did visit the ku domain, top down, from the corbum pillar.

Yes, you can. It’s by far the best way in my opinion.
Saves a lot of hassle. Once you have the corbum, just drop through pits back to the start and choose a new path.

I'd never considered doing it any other way - I've always gathered all four Corbums before going to chuck 'em in the pit...

Really? Why is that? I saw somewhere that Dain was the easiest so I was going to do that next. Or are you saying it's best to leave the easy one for last?

In my humble opinion Dain is the toughests one. Ku-Ros/Neta-Dain is my usual way to go. Mine the corbums first and THEN enter the FUL YA level. There´s plenty of ways to solve CSB, easiest, easier, easy,...

I usually do it the same as m1ckey stated (Ku-Ros-Neta-Dain).
I also think Dain is the toughest, but it depends where you start. Don’t forget that you can start in three different places on every path. One of the starting points in Dain lets you skip a lot of the path, so maybe that’s why some see it as easier.
The reason i like Dain last is that it puts you in a good position on the ful ya level if you enter it from the Dain side of the corbum pillar.
You enter very close to a useful teleport.

Yeah, Dain is the worst. I seem to do stuff in the same order as Saumun, with Ku always first and Dain always last. I'm pretty sure I do Ros second and Neta third, but this may vary. I'll do each path up to the DDD (getting each key), then do "part two" of each path past the DDD except for Dain, which can be skipped by going around the Corbum Pillar from the Ros side, if I remember rightly. And then upward to the topmost level to find the secret "back route" to the Pit that doesn't involve going through the Giant Massive Room of Death .

I should also point out that my favoured route involves needing the skeleton key.

Coming up the stairs from the Dain corbum puts you a few paces from the teleport behind a ra door. Taking that teleport puts you a couple of squares from the skeleton lock. When you open that wall, you’re right among the demons and master key... so aside from fighting the demons, you’re practically skipping the whole level.

I (almost) never use the last skeleton lock before the demon chamber. Just race through the demons with master key in hand, which was obtained conveniently beforehand.

Ah, yes. I’m too impatient to vex the vexirk and normally just kill it, but then probably spend the same amount of time killing the demons to get the master key.

Yes it does... On my very first CSB playthrough, I actually held on to skeleton key (and chestfuls of others) until the very end and seeing skeleton locks all over the place. Too afraid to use it, thinking it´s a "once in the lifetime offer." Silly me... Live and learn while playing DM & CSB, I guess...

Hi all, I'm almost at the end and I've just got the Dain corbum, with only Ros left to go. But I can't figure out the fake pit skip to get around to Ros.

31,24 and 32,25 are fake pits.

But all of the other pits to the east seem to be real, when I try to drop items on them. How do I get around to Ros?

I've believe it's at 33,22, you get there from the KU side.

Hmm, I'm playing the Amiga version but it doesn't seem to work for me? I'm supposed to press the button, run to the corbum alcove, step forward when the pit closes and then sidestep left asap?

It took me many tries and when I finally succeeded I fall down that pit as well

Ah, never mind, my mistake. I figured it out. I have now completed the game, yay for me

Doing KU first is the best way, so you can get the Executioner and use them for the rest of the game. Paying a visit to the final level after getting the first Corbum is recommended to get the Dragon Fang, so you have immediately both the best weapons around.

Yeah, I've always found Ku to be the easiest of the Ways. Plus, it's fun fighting Dragons . Dain, on the other hand, can sod off.

I do KU at first, not only because of the executioner, but also because of the Dragon's fang and lots of food.
Dain, on the other hand, gives you no food. But it consumes a lot of it as you need to regenerate a lot of mana.
I remember my first run in CSB... I started with Dain, finished that way and had a starving party.

I normally play...
- KU at first
- short glance at the top level to get the dragon fang
- back to the corbum room on the KU path and cheat to get the ROS corbum
- NETA
- DAIN
- top level and FULYA pit
