Greetings Dm fans!
I just want to say HI and to say Thanks to chris for making such a good site and to everyone for keeping one of the best rpgs ever made.
When I first played this on the Snes (was too young to remember about the original atari version), I though that this was the most realisitc game ever made(and still is in most aspects). I have yet to see any game equal or even surpass Dm(although alot of old and a few new games do come close).
If there's any way I can help keep this game alive I'll do the best I can to do so.
Long live Dungeon Master! (I'll think Of something to put here soon)

Boy, I thought it was very realistic as well. When I first gave it a try on the Apple IIgs way back when I was real young, I got as far as the first mummy. I opened the gate, and it stepped forward. I freaked out and shut the gate. It attacked, but what it looked like to me was that it was holding the gate up. I screamed, shut the computer off, and started crying. I didn't try playing it for at least a year after that. (I thought I'd never share that story with anyone. Oh well)

Re: Greetings Dm fans!
Thanks for sharing. I remember coming around the corner and
running into a Mummy. I did not shout out loud but my heart
skipped a beat or two. It was an experience that I can still
relate to after 12 or 14 years. I very carefully peeked around
corners for quite a long time. I was about 50 years old.

Re: Greetings Dm fans!
It's always nice to wax nostalgic about early DM experiences.
My favourite was when I progressed as far as level 12. It had taken me weeks. I freaked out a bit with the first knight, but what really got me was bumping into my first materializer. I didn't know what was going on--I hadn't heard it, and it was just a floating blue ball. Suddenly it materialised and out of nowhere a Fireball came towards my party. My heart went ballistic, I physically jumped out of the way, fell off my chair, and in the process walked my party into the incoming projectile. Two dead party members, and a twisted ankle were the result.
To top it all, I hadn't saved since before entering level 11, and it had taken me hours to work out the clockwise rooms....
...those were the days!
BTW, Paul S. you must be proud to be the oldest DM fan?

Re: Greetings Dm fans!
I wonder who's the youngest dm player is(guessing that they were born somewhere from pauls birthday to 1985, whatever comes first)...
Probably guessing that it ranges from 18 to 21 for the youngest..but it could be lower who knows.

Re: Greetings Dm fans!
I don't think my youngest brother has played the original DM, but when I left for Korea in 1998 he asked me to leave my DM2 CD and Adventurers' Guide so he could play while I was gone. He was 10 at the time.

I'm only 15!. I just like this game better than the newer ones and I have alot of time on my hands. I watch my brother play CSB when I was 5 and I was too scared to try playing it myself back then. I never knew I was probably the youngest.
Re: Greetings Dm fans!
Only 15!!! I actually feel old at 24! I had it in my mind that the regulars here were older than me, dunno why. Maybe we should have a person profile page or something. I finished DM when I was 8 on the Atari to the disbelief of my family. I used to get up at seven in the morning before school to play it, and always found the worms to be scariest. Also the ghost as well: when it appeared with the worms I was back upstairs as quick as the mouse could move. I remember saying, 'Dad there's this green thing and it goes through doors AND walls!!!' I got my revenge on the worms though when my trained Mon Master fighters came back up with the Hardcleave and Inquisitor as I gleefully hacked them to shreds.
