[Done for V0.38] Animated armours

Post by cowsmanaut »

Carrying this post over to the Suggestions area where it belongs.

The Suggestion was to make the cursed armour Reanimate if left intact. However the one main revision to that would be to make it have less HP than it started with.

A suggestion Gambit made was that when worn it could lower the players Health.. this is actually kinda cool.. See if it were done in a way that was not immediately seen to the player. There is this story I read about A dagger that is alive it has this ornate face in the hilt that is actually it's real face. It drinks blood much like a tick when you stap or slice your enemies and if you go to long with out feeding it (you usually don't know it's alive) it bites you and drains a bit of your blood.. it tries to do this at times when you won't be paying attention.. sure you'll feel it but probably not notice it to be the dagger doing it.

The point here is that you could be feeding the armour with say health dropping a single point and healing again quickly. or you food bar decreases twice as fast. This could be feeding the armour? so then if it reached 100% of it's Hp back it could then suck your mana to try and create new limbs? after all it's the perfect trap.. you carry it along for a long time and then when you find some new armour you throw it off and bang.. it reanimates!

Or not..

At any Rate
we got 3 votes on reanimating cursed armour piles if they are left intact. (Ie a full set feet, legs, torso, and two swords)

Cheers

Cursed armor should be cursed if something. I have briefly read througth the sources of CSB win but havent figured out anything special about the curse.

Giving a sligth case of bad luck would be ok. Full suit would maybe give half the chanse ti sucheed with anything, just a helmet 12.5% etc. It would be hard to notice and still affect gameplay.

if you still have the sources could you pass them along to me?
for DM or CSB?
they would be a great learning tool.

dmweb.free.fr/Clones.htm

And the third "clone" is it. Three zips to download and you have all including sources. Hope you know at least something about 68k programming ;-)

Paul Stevens (who is doing CSB for Windows) said that he found a hidden 'luck' stat. It is naturally 10, the rabbit's foot added another 10 to it, and each piece of cursed armour deduced 3 for this (so, by a piece of coding error, you could therefore get very lucky wearing all four pieces). So there you go!
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!

This can now be done in custom dungeons for V0.38 (but the default DM / CSB dungeons behave as the originals did).

Once 0.38 is released I'll patch up my demo of doing this... (right now it uses the bugged SWAP_LOCAL mechanism so it's not ideal)
