Re: docs
Hm this made me think, it would be nice if we could include text screens in our dungeons. Maybe with the scroll graphic of the credits or something, where we could give a short intro with some needed information or something. Should be pad trigered, and escaped by a button or just enter or something. Could be great for including a plot in a dungeon, as well as letting people know they need the spell book and power runes.

Re: docs
I think you have to be a bit dumb not to be able to work out how to use the spell book; I mean, the thing is right there on the floor as soon as you enter the dungeon after the first grate, with the power runes on a scroll right next to it... it's a simple step to realise what you should do. Then again, maybe it only is obvious to people who have played the original DM, so perhaps a small amount of documentation wouldn't go amiss...
Re: docs
I disagree gambit. It is really obvious to those of us who have been following the development of RTC and been involved in the discussions that resulted in the spell book implementation. To some one that has only played DM? I'm not saying its very hard to figure out, but the person doesn't have to be stupid to get frustrated at not being able to cast the spells they want when they start the game.
Anyways there are other reasons for a full screen text box, and this could be a test implementation for one.

Eh, it's trial and error to think of pressing scrolls onto the book open in the hand! You can't be too harsh ... though there is the DM_original.rtc there too that everyone ignores....
Hang on, that sucks! The lastest ezboard upgrade only shows the original posting when doign the reply..eeew

indeed..
Some docs should be provided for sure.. it seems to me that even though there is the 'faq' on the page people coose to ignore it.. so perhaps some kind of text file that says "important.txt" so they don't just ignore it too..
The spell book is not obvious enough I'm afraid.. I've noticed a few people who have played DM before not understanding the point of it.. if the scroll with the power runes had also a message saying something like "this book of power requires the runes" then perhaps you might find it clicking in the brain..

Re: indeed..
I guess that's something to do with how we all think differently. I apologise if I implied that anyone was stupid - I simply don't see the spell book as complicated or difficult to understand.

Re: indeed..
yes...you get the last response...with the previous versions you got everyone's responses from that page! which sucks concidering some of the longer argument threads it's nice to see two or three opinions together as a refresher..ah well, a little thing...
I think in cluding the faq in the zip file might be a the best idea, since it also explains the speed, other dungeons, and user defined settings aswell as the spellbook
