As per some of the previous messages, I thought I'd have a go with a "Maleficent" Hissssa.

The start was tough, bumping into a wall or damage from a mummy or screamer would kill him instantly. Fighter and ninja levels were extremely hard to obtain but once he got his first priest level (through war crying), I was able to practice some spells and had him casting fireballs in no time. I didn't train him in the screamer or rat rooms, just played the game from start to finish.

The toughest monsters were those that could cast spells. As his anti-magic and anti-fire was extremely low (even at the end), most of their spells would kill him instantly. It was impossible to carry much equipment so I only really took the necessary.

I did have to use some unconventional methods (for me) such as closing doors on monsters and avoiding some of them. For example, I didn't even bother with the Stone Golems.

Well, there you go. It can be done :D

Wow. Starting with 1 in every stat except Stamina - congratulations on managing that somehow!

To be honest, I didn't anticipate it being too difficult as I completed Conflux with 4 of these characters.

I think that CSB would actually be easier as the worms in the starting area are pretty slow and provide an unlimited supply of food. Alternating between punching and war crying would ensure a couple of levels are gained. The flying eyes would need avoiding first time round then there is water on the level below.

I have never attempted a CSB speedrun but something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBmRWMx47Yg may be possible without bumping into a wall or taking damage from a monster.

I guess the "sticker shock" of seeing a character with 1 Maximum HP and 1 in almost all of his other stats just made me think "Wow, that's crazy!" Regardless, it still seems like a decent enough achievement to me.

I'm not sure if some doors can only be meléed while others can only be Fireballed, but certainly plenty of doors are just completely indestructible (especially if they need a very specific key to open). And of course, if it's a button-operated door, blowing it up means you can no longer open or close it as a barrier/weapon against other dudes, so it may not always be a good idea.
I know you can destroy some doors with FUL bombs, and I think I once destroyed the door in the Kid's Dungeon leading to the area with the coin slots that dispenses food and medium armor with a MON level fireball.
That's the only one I recall being able to destroy aside from the "none shall pass" door, but I was never too invested in trying to destroy doors.
I am positive however that there are a couple other doors that can be destroyed that way.

There are two doors on the worm level that can be destroyed: "Don't let a closed door stop you" near the start and the one just after the prisoner near the end.
