Hallo to all the experienced players in here!
I am pretty new playing this fantastic game and am now before the first door to the worms.
To get in there you have to be able to run sidewards but I can't work out how to do this.
I tried each combination on my keyboard but none is working this way.
The horizontal arrows on it just turn me.
Does anyone have a solution for that?
Thank you very much!
Kerstin

Re: Problem moving sidewards on RTC
Hi and welcome. This seems to stump a lot of people, but it's easy when you know how:
Numpad:
4/5/6 = turn left/forwards/turn right
1/2/3 = sidestep left/back/sidestep right.

Thank you very much! I tried so hard without it...

Problem moving sideways because I play from a laptop and have no side numpad. Got me stuck replaying original DM and now in parallel U. I just can't hit that button and jump sideways fast enough to get to the worms. GB

If you're playing in RTC you can go into the Config file and change the keybindings to something else
.

Re: Problem moving sidewards on RTC
On my Toshiba running Win7, the numbers are 4 and 5 for turn left and right and 2 and 8 for forward and back, corresponding to the arrows painted on the numbers. I have no side to side. I changed the numpad numbers in the config file to 1 and 3 to see if that would do anything. Nothing.
Any idea why 7 and 8 aren't for sliding left and right and, say, why 5 isn't for forward? And any idea why I can't change the numbers in the config file and get a result?

Re: Problem moving sidewards on RTC
hi, i was having a similar sidestep issue, i think you can resolve it by having numlock switched on
on my laptop 1 & 3 hve "end" and "PgDn" on the keys, so im guessing DM thought those were what i was pressing.
im pretty certain this should fix it
(was a bugger trying to get through the gate when you need to sidestep after the switch for the gate, and trying to dodge bolts/poison later
