Fullbrite overlays for monsters?

Post by Gambit37 »

I'm looking for a way to replicate the "glow in the dark" pixels of the screamer, swamp slime and Couatl.

I can't find a way of doing this, and suspect the only way is to have some kind of extra graphic that could be rendered in "fullbright" mode (no shading) at the same coordinates as the monster's bitmaps.

What's the chances of getting a feature like this? Close to nil, nil, or lower? :D

I don't know if you remember, but older versions of DSB actually had the "glowing" cyan pixels, but it got to be too much trouble to maintain and I didn't think anybody but me cared, so I got rid of it.

Anyway, I'll give this one an optimistic "close to nil" because fireballs are already not shaded in the dark so the code all already exists, but it would need some adaptations of course.

Nice. An optimistic "close to nil" is still not nil. :D

I genuinely don't recall early DSB doing that. Very cool that you originally had it.
