AD&D alert

Post by Lunever »

Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrggghh!!!!! George, you really did it. I was always glad, that only the rusters in EOB but not those in DM destroyed equipment, I hate it! It is ok for RTC of course, but please remove it from "Original DM"!

if i read the new format right, he doesn't have to, you can create your own version of the original 'ruster' instead quite easily using the raw dungeon text file : )
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

Interesting fact about the rusters in DM - they originally *did* rust stuff, but this feature was removed as it could create un-winnable games. According to Doug Bell, "We took it out. Destruction of objects was difficult to manage in the context of not producing unwinnable games." So there you go...

That´s interesting, I always wondered why they looked exactly as AD&D rusters did but didn´t rust. Yet, now that you mention it I think I remeber an early Amiga version wich had some other bugs, where the rusters did do it, but it is such a long time ago, I´m not sure about it anymore...

Well, to be honest, I don´t know, and if I knew it is too long ago for me to remember.
