savegame cocktail

Post by Lunever »

Original DM1 V0.19: I was just saving a game, after rising a wizard level with Tiggy. But when I was loading the game again, Tiggy had the new level and stats, but the prty was positioned on a different level of the dungeon, where the party had been before in the savegame that was supposed to be overwritten.
I saved and reloaded uncountable times, but this bug has occured so far only once.

That's even odder - on the point of being impossible. Instead of writing ontop of the old one, the code actually deletes the old save game file and writes a brand new one when you save your game.

I really can't see how two save games can become mixed up! I'll keep an eye out for it - let me know if you see it again too.

Sounds like the occurrence of this bug less probable than getting hit by lightning. Yet it happened. It will be probable next to impossible to find out the cause unless it reoccurs.
I'll keep an eye whether that happens.
