General debates (v0.07)

Post by beowuuf »

Suggestions for ninja experience, monster AI and stamina:

Ninja levels - a thought would be to tie in the aerodynamics fudge factor to experience, so that you gain more experience for hefting actual proper projectiles, with extra for larger items, rather than gaining it just for throwing around heavy objects.

To tie into this, damage from thrown objects also is adjusted for the fudge factor, as at the moment throw items are lethal, especially anything slightly hefty (clubs/worm rounds etc)

Monster movement/AI - monsters need to dither less in the direction they are going when stationary, as this will possibly help with the lack opf aggressiveness. Also, monsters need to be more determined when with other monsters, as they tend to stay back if a monster blocks them, even though they can wonder around and go side by side with the other creature

Stamina - stamina is healing too fast or using items isn't using up enough. Standing in toe to toe fights stamina has increased while swinging a sword. I think it is the latter, as usually any large weapon option (melee on level 4) would start to wipe out lower level fighter stamina.
Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!

Yes, using more advanced operations (chop, melee, berzerk) etc. almost always caused stamina decrease in DM. I think even simple actions like swing took stamina from non-experienced characters (like neophyte fighter).
