I rememeber that after bones items in the hands were the next on the pile, which was helpful to recover the most important items quickly.

Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

How about:
1) Spell book (if present)
2) Bones
3) Hand items (if present0
4) Everything else (if present)

I'd put 1) after 3) cause I'm evil, but yep, that sounds fair.
