Hello all. After having miserable luck with several emulators and DM, I decided to try RTC. I have v.15 and am running Windows ME (maybe my problem....?). DirectX 8.1. PIII 933 with 384 MB RAM.
RTC has been extracted to a folder (crtc). When I double click RTC.exe, the screen goes completely black and I hear a ding (windows warning bell). If I hit F10 or ALT, I can see my pointer, but as soon as I click, it disappears and doesn't return. I have to cntrl-alt-del and shutdown rtc or alt-F4.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Andy
RTC won't load.

make sure the screen mode in the config.txt file is correctly related to your own screen mode - you can use 'auto' if you wish : )
and make sure that you are running in 24 or 32 bit colour, or else bad things can happen sometimes...
hope that helps

Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!

What an easy fix!
Silly me. I was getting so frustrated with emulators that crashed after the ftl logo that I didn't read carefully and didn't realize I needed to change the config.txt file.
Now the real problem: getting my thesis done instead of spending all my time reliving the dungeon as a 12 year old.
Thanks so much!
