Bad news George, I've just walked into a room of beholders who obviously didn't take their valium. In a fit of depression they nuked themselves to oblivion and - yep, you guessed it - v0.15 crashed right out. Oh, the humanity!
Never mind, eh?

Is there?
Shouldn't you start your game from the scratch? According to v15-announcement there are several small changes to dungeon which, I believe, don't make their way into v14-saves. Or have you just been faster than light? (it takes some time for a veteran to get into the beholder-level)
However, I think that would have no effect on anti-life monsters. Why can't anything ever be easy!?

I would have imagined that the spell-casting monsters' coding would be a fundamental part of the game engine itself and therefore unrelated to data from a save game. Fixing the way the program computes how creatures behave should have an effect all the time as it is the core code which does this. And if it takes so long to reach the levels with spell-casting monsters, how can George have known that his bug fix 'worked'?
I am open-minded to the possibility of the save game being the cause thouhg, in spite of my doubts.

P.S. I started on this set of save games yesterday. Having played DM to death on my ST when I was younger, I know almost every level and puzzle and monster location like the back of my hand, allowing me to get through very quickly. <p> Be patient and obey,Dear as you are, if Jove his arm extend,I can but grieve, unable to defend. What soul so daring in your aid to moveOr lift his hand against the might of Jove?</p>

Yep - I'm going to remain somewhat sceptical unless it's confirmed by a full play through. If you walk into the zoo and go to the beholders they work correctly so I think it's a version mis-match issue.
I'm more than willing to be proved wrong though!
