Dead End in CSB 0.18
I'm currently stuck in the end of KU, where there is a dead end. How am I supposed to get past that? I even checked the walkthrough found on the Encyclopedia-site and, of course, the hints of the oracle, but no help. If I just stand at the end of the corridor, the knights eventually come and mutilate my beloved party.

Where abouts? There's an illusion wall somewhere nearby which should take you into the 'no fireballs' area if you're where I think you are.... try casting OH GOR ROS while viewing the magic map.
Dead end
No no no. You're talking about (one of) the beginning of KU. I'm in the end of it, on the DDD-level. There's an inscription on the wall saying 'Dead End', and a corridor that leads to a dead end. Somewhere along the corridor is a trigger that spawns more deth knights. All the hints say that I should just wait at the end of the corridor (or is this where I'm doing wrong?) and a passage opens.

Re: Dead end
Ah, right - I can't remember specifically, but I think you need to wait with your back to the wall and let the knights come towards you. They should trigger an invisible pad that removes the wall behind you so you can carry on.
If it's not working it may be that there's a bug inn the dungeon. I'm at work so I can't check the exact behaviour of the original dungeon.

Dead end (all my efforts wasted?)
I'd appreciate it if you tested the original dungeon whenever you get out of work although I'm pretty certain it's a bug in the dungeon. I've done exactly as you said without any (desired) result.

Re: Dead End in CSB 0.18
Unfortunately this could well be a bug in the dungeon. The CSB dungeon hasn't been played nearly as much as the DM one and so there may well be a few bugs left
I'll have a look and find out.

This worked in previous versions, but I haven't been able to play the newer versions (v0.17/0.18) nearly as much : (
But yes, for that bit retreating backwards while the knights first attack you is the way to do it.
Unless you mean you are going aaaaall the way down the corridor (30 tiles or more) in which case
a) look for a tiny switch about three from the final end of the corridor, on the left hand wall as you have your back to the end of it...this will open up stairs
b) in the original, there was a teleporter somewhere along the line that teleporterd the party to the second part of this corridor (just a trick to widen it i gues, there seemed to be no gameplay reason apart from you could end up having knights at your back too...)so the bug could be that this teleporter is broken, and you really do end up at the dead end of the first corridor section

Was unable to (permenantly) kill off ian_scho (Haynuus), Ameena, oh_brother (Westian), money (Falkor), raixel (Petal) and Lord_Bones (Aurek) in the DM D&D game Time's Champions!
CONGRATULATIONS TO THOSE WHO MADE THE GAME WHAT IT WAS - GREAT!

Ku dead end
While playng the original CSB on an Atari St I got stuck there....killing all knights while refusing to retreat (boosting my party members with "bro ku" as much as i could )
Well..later I found that the dead end opens.
Now:
Retreating backwards while the knights first attack you is the way to do it.

CONFIRMED BUG!
Just checked this and it's a bug in the CSB dungeon. Object 3380 is a trigger which removes the wall after a couple of seconds once a monster is standing on a pad. Or it would if it had the correct action: It's set to ACTIVATE when it should be TOGGLE. So unfortunately you can't complete your current game. The best you can do is edit the CSB.TXT file yourself to correct this error and recompile, but you'll have to start again...
Guess this should be moved into the bugs forum...

Re: CONFIRMED BUG!
In fact, it's slightly more complicated. You'll need to add a DISABLE_SELF parameter to the floor trigger as this should be a one-time only effect. I.e: if you return to this passage later on in the game the wall should still be open and shouldn't be further affected by new deth knights that might be generated.
Re: CONFIRMED BUG!
It is possible to subdue this error, stepping on the illusionary pit on 01/33/22 (Encyclopaedia coordinates), the one right front (south) of the floor switch that closes the pit before the Ku-Corbum, so you can walk from the Ros-Corbum to the Ku-Corbum.
